#NPLNSWCLUB WELCOME
Coming back from a disappointing loss against Rockdale, the Stallions are focused
on nothing else but securing 3 points against Sydney FC for Round 20 of the NPL NSW Men’s Competition, in 7th vs last position contest the Stallions won’t be taking any unnecessary chances and will be out in full force.
With 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses from the last five matches, the Stallions have shifted
down two spots on the ladder to 7th with 24 points, although 12 points separate the two teams having Sydney FC on last position with 12 points, the Stallions can’t take any chances against an opportunistic opposition.
Adding to a busy schedule with the Stallions’ mid-week FFA Cup blockbuster, we can be sure to be up for a great game of football between two entertaining sides.

NPLNSW.COM.AU 1ST GRADE MATCH PREVIEW
Marconi Stallions have the chance to play finals football in their first season back in
the National Premier Leagues NSW competition, but it will only be possible if they collect victory against Sydney FC on Sunday.
The Stallions are come into the round in seventh position, two points behind fifth placed Rockdale and level on points with sixth placed Manly United.
A loss last week against Rockdale City Suns was a dent in their finals aspirations but the dream is far but over for Peter Tsekenis’ side.
Their opponent this week is bottom team Sydney FC who were unlucky not to claim a shock win against Sydney Olympic in Round 19.
Rob Stanton’s team pushed the Premiership hopeful’s all the way in a tight 3-2 defeat.
Marconi’s Sean Rooney has the skill and x-factor to be a major influencer in matches. The Stallions will be looking to him for a moment of magic.
Sydney FC have had a long campaign and it’s starting to show. The young side has a National Youth League season ahead to prepare for and a strong finish to the National Premier Leagues NSW will be on their agenda.
Marconi will be very confident they will be able to get the win at home in this match.
However, if they are too confident the Young Sky Blues have what it takes to shock them.

#NPLNSWMATCH REVIEWSRockdale City Suns 2 – Marconi Stallions FC 1 at Illinden Sports Centre
Rockdale City Suns have edged closer to locking up a spot in the finals after a 2-1 win against Marconi Stallions at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday.
Goals to Bai Antoniou and Aleks Canak mid-way through the second stanza gave the Suns the upper hand.
Sean Rooney struck with a curling free-kick in the final ten minutes to halve the deficit but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal for the visitors.
Rockdale now have a firm grip on fifth spot with 29 points, five ahead of sixth placed Manly United.
Sydney FC 2 – Sydney Olympic 3 at Lambert Park
A second half resurgence was enough for Sydney Olympic to claim a 3-2 victory over Sydney FC at Lambert Park on Saturday night.
After a slow first half, the visitors picked up the pace in the second stanza to secure an important three points that put them back in contention for the NSW National Premier Leagues Premiership, despite a last-minute penalty to Sydney FC.
Goals to Max Burgess, Alejandro Sanchez and Nikola Kuleski cancelled out two penalty conversions from Sydney FC’s Jeremy Cox and Jerry Skotadis.
Olympic are now level on points with top side APIA Leichhardt Tigers but remain in second spot because of an inferior goal difference.

NPLNSW.COM.AU U20’S MATCH PREVIEWMarconi Stallions picked up their third win
on the trot last weekend – a 2-1 win over Rockdale – to move within two points of the finals places at the end of Round 19, though they face an uphill battle to carry such good form through to the end of the season.
The Stallions take on Sydney FC on Sunday ahead of a clash with Sutherland Sharks in Round 21, fixtures from which Marconi must surely take at least a point if they’re to squeeze into the top five.
Their opponents this weekend travel to Marconi Stadium following a 6-0 demolition of Sydney Olympic, Finn Ballard McBride running rampant with four goals.
Sydney FC beat Marconi 4-0 at Lambert Park earlier in the season, and will be intent on completing the double over the Stallions when they meet on Sunday afternoon – they sit just a point off top spot, no doubt hungry to take advantage of any slip up from Blacktown City above them.
