BOSKI APTEKARZ

Na świecie istnieje mnóstwo różnego rodzaju chorób. Atakują

one ludzki organizm i w najgorszym przypadku powodują

śmierć. Ewangelia poucza nas o jednej, dużo bardziej

niebezpiecznej chorobie. Jest nią grzech. Niebezpieczeństwo

tej choroby polega na tym, że może unicestwić nie tylko ciało,

ale i duszę człowieka. Łazarz był przyjacielem Jezusa.

Zapewne chętnie gościł Mistrza w swoim domu. Tym razem

jednak zaproszenie ma szczególny charakter. Łazarz poważnie

choruje. Jego siostry obawiają się o stan zdrowia brata. Jedyna

nadzieja w Jezusie. „Boski Aptekarz” wypowiada słowa

niosące życie: „Choroba ta nie zmierza ku śmierci, ale ku

chwale Bożej”. Dalej z Ewangelii dowiadujemy się, że Łazarz

umiera. Wydawać by się mogło, że zawiodła wszelka

nadzieja. Ale choroba dosięgła jedynie jego ciała, duszy zaś

nie. Jezus na to nie pozwolił. I choć Łazarz rzeczywiście

umarł, to ostatecznie jednak Chrystus przywraca życie

przyjacielowi. Jakie leki zastosował? Na próżno nam

doszukiwać się jakichś medykamentów. Tym lekarstwem jest

sam Jezus. Jego obecność w życiu człowieka sprawia, że może

on czuć się bezpieczny. Nam też zdarza się zachorować.

Ratujemy się wszelkiego rodzaju lekarstwami. Ale czy nie

zapominamy, że choruje także nasza dusza? Tutaj już nie

wystarczą pastylki, syropy czy zastrzyki. Grzechu nie da się

wyleczyć ludzkimi sposobami. Jedynie Jezus może nas

uzdrowić. Czy pozwalam się Jezusowi leczyć w sakramencie

pokuty i pojednania? Czy wzmacniam swoje życie duchowe

codzienną modlitwą, a także Eucharystią? Czy mam stały

kontakt z moim „Boskim Aptekarzem”?

. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

All Religious Education Classes will meet next Saturday from

9:00 to 10:15 AM.

TODAY the students in the Religious Education Program and

their families will gather at 10:15 A.M. for a Family Mass.

Mass will be followed by a reception and activity in the school

auditorium. All parishioners and friends are welcome.

On April 22nd

Religious Education Teachers and Aides will meet

at the Rectory from 9 A.M. till 11 A.M.

PARISH AND FINANCE COUNCIL

The Finance Council will meet Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 6:30

P.M. in the rectory and the Parish Council will meet at

7 P.M.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY

The Holy Name Society will meet on Friday, April 21st

in the Holy Name Room at 7 P.M. All members and new

members are welcome.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

In the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, also called

Confession, we meet the Lord who wants to grant forgiveness

and the grace to live a renewed life in him. The Church

encourages frequent confession to grow closer to Christ Jesus

and his Body, the Church. This Lenten season, the

Archdiocese of Hartford is working to make it easier for

Catholics to experience God's love and mercy in the

Sacrament of Reconciliation. All the churches of the

Archdiocese of Hartford have been open for Confessions

every Monday, beginning March 6th, during Lent from 6:00

ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL 2017

The 2017 Archbishop's Annual Appeal is now underway

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES RICE BOWL

As part of our faith community's Lenten observance, we will

participate in Catholic Relief Service's Rice Bowl program.

Since 1975, Operation Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the

United States to pray, fast, learn and give as we increase our

understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and our obligations

to the global community. Rice Bowls can be found at the

entrance of the church.
