Robison Elementary School Weekly Update September 16-20, 2019 PD Wednesday: Mrs. McDonald will present on Science FOSS kits and resources. Mrs. Shapiro will present on Testing Protocol for Benchmark 1 and how to access SchoolCity. PTO meeting Tuesday, September 17 @ 6pm in the library. Free childcare available, please encourage parents to attend and add information to weekly newsletters. Our first Site Council meeting is Tuesday, September 17 @ 5pm. Please add information to newsletters and encourage families to attend. Teachers, Thank you so much for meeting with our families last week for Parent-Teacher Conferences. I admire your preparation and hard work! Effective today, September 16, Mr. Escobar’s second grade students will join Mrs. McDonald’s class and his first grade students will join Ms. Hopwood’s class. Mr. Escobar will become our full-time ELD Resource teacher and follow the resource pull-out and push-in model. He will prepare his classroom and materials this week and will start seeing students on Monday, September 23 rd . Attached is our PD calendar for the year, please print and keep for your records. PD is mandatory for all teachers. I need a class to volunteer for Roadrunner Round-Up on Tuesday- please and thank you! Schedule for the year will be passed out on Wednesday during PD. Thank you for supporting our Math-a-Thon! The winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 24 during Roadrunner Round-Up! Student and teacher participation was amazing! Thank you so much! We are well on our way to purchasing more café tables! One student was able to get Nova Home Loans to purchase one café table! WOW!!! Exciting News! I was able to build a partnership with Peter Piper Pizza for STEM field trips, reading incentive program and other events. Ms. Tafolla our awesome STEM teacher scheduled a meeting last week and she will share the exciting field trip information at PD on Wednesday!

2-5 grade teachers, please add information about Benchmark testing in newsletters.
Teachers, remember to post weekly newsletters on the bulletin boards across from office-parents do stop to read them. You no longer have to put copies of lesson plans in my mailbox. I now have the planbook app on my phone and can access lesson plans through my phone and computer. Also, you no longer have to put a copies of your newsletter in my mailbox, please send newsletter to Ms. Tafolla via email and she will post it on our Robison website.
We are still in need of adult volunteers for the installation of our Be Kind Mural. Please add information in your newsletters and recruit parents at pick-up. Be Kind Mural Installation September 19 & 20, 7am-1pm. Parents can stay the entire time or drop-in for a hour or more. Please call Kathy, so we have a list a volunteers.
MTSS UPDATE:
I hope you had a restful weekend.
Please note that we will resume our weekly MTSS meetings this week. Please come prepared with your academic and
behavior concerns, your MTSS binder, and your laptop. In addition, please remember to keep entering academic and
behavior concerns into Clarity. We will be discussing intervention plans and how to record intervention activity.
Finally, please come prepared to Wednesday's PD. Here are items you need to complete for Wednesday's PD:
1. View the testing protocol PPT that was emailed to you last week.
2. Gather and bring student data to the meeting.
3. Success Maker - Please follow the directions sent by Technology Services. You need to add SuccessMaker as a
product to your Clever Account. However, please refrain from using SuccessMaker with your students at this
time. More info to come in our PD session.

Teachers, what a successful conference week! All of you were well prepared and so kind to
our families.
Ms. Lugo, Mr. J and Ms. Tafolla for preparing all our laptops for Benchmark testing. All three of
you were super busy last week and thank you so much for forward planning and ensuring all
students are ready for testing.
For a great Spirit Week, supporting our Math-a-Thon and for planning such fun games for our
Math Day!
