Volume II, Issue III October 18, 2015 Fort Bend County Fair Fort Bend County Fair is one of the busiest times for any FFA member or advisor. From showing livestock, to volunteer work and enjoying fried oreos and exhilarating rides, there are multiple opportunities to get involved. For 82 years, the fair has provided memories to aspiring agriculturists and will continue to do so. Ridge Point FFA members were involved in many opportunities at the 2015 County Fair. A group of 20 members volunteered at the “Exceptional Rodeo” where they got to assist children with disabilities while playing fun rodeo themed games, riding the bull and even riding horses. This was an amazing experience for these students and the children who participated. Our very own Chloe Cherry (11) was a finalist for the Fort Bend County Fair Queen! In the end, she won “Miss Congeniality. “It was a fantastic experience and has really made me come out of my shell. Running for Fair Queen is definitely something I would do again next year.” -Chloe Cherry Ag Mechanic students showed projects that they built at the fair. Wild About FFA RPHS & AHS Chapter Camp!This year, Ridge Point FFA and Austin FFA will be combining and going far beyond the classroom to further enhance their leadership skills and qualities. Any member who attends will be introduced to new friendships, memories and even compete through Ag Olympics!!

When: October 30 - November 1st !

Where: Camp Allen 18800 FM 362, Navasota, Texas 77868!

Packing List:

Our community service project will include packing boxes to send to troops. Please bring items to fill these boxes. Suggestions include toiletries, movies, books, warm socks, etc. Personal letters are a bonus.!

All clothing must be school appropriate. Nike shorts will only be allowed during Ag Olympics. Boys must be clean shaven. Phones will only be aloud during free time. Please do not bring anything of great value. We are not responsible for any missing items.!

Clothes that can be thrown away & nicer clothing for dance!

Meat & Desserts Fundraiser The students all did an amazing job in the first round of the fundraiser. They will be allowed another opportunity to continue sales later this semester. Members are required to sell a minimum of 15 items to be considered active.. Pick up on October 29th between noon and 3!

Starting off with a Bang! Ridge Point Sporting Clays Team!7 Ridge Point Clays Team members competed on October 17th at the George Ranch Shoot at American Shooting Centers. They were very successful, brought home some hardware and represented our chapter very well.!
