Career highlights
In 1994, I graduated from the fashion department of ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Arnhem in The Netherlands. After working as
junior fashion designer for Belgian avant-‐garde fashion designer Walter van Beirendonck, I was hired by one of Europe’s prime
fashion retailers, ‘C&A’. In their menswear department in Brussels, Belgium, I developed new brand positioning strategies for
C&A menswear brands, created fashion trend forecasting presentations – and I designed directional clothing collections.
William Baird Group (UK) assigned me in 1997 to develop a new leisurewear segment for the Dutch formal menswear brand
‘Van Gils’. I was responsible for Van Gils’ first ever -‐ leisurewear brand positioning strategy, designed the first and second
leisurewear collections -‐ and I worked on the general revitalization of Van Gils’ brand image.
During my career I established own clothing lines based on self developed brand positioning strategies – and I established own
clothing lines based on identities of famous ‘non fashion brands’. From 2002 to 2010, I worked with the clothing licenses of
‘Greyhound USA bus lines’, ‘N.Y.S.C.’ (New York Sports Clubs) and N.Y.P.D. (New York Police Department).
In 2006 I won ‘K-‐Swiss’ Europe’s brand positioning strategy competition, which gave me the opportunity to create K-‐Swiss’
first-‐ever brand positioning strategy for clothing. I was also responsible for K-‐Swiss’ first and second seasonal clothing
collections.
In 2008 I started an online fashion design company. From this company I work as fashion designer and as creative director for
leading fashion companies and fashion retailers from predominantly non-‐European countries.
