Paradox 1:
“The star must be simultaneously ordinary and extraordinary for the consumer”
Here we have them being pictured as ‘ordinary’ people as we see them doing normal things, like shopping at the supermarket and at the beach.
Contrasting to this here they are being pictured in their ‘star’ state as they are performing to their fans at concerts, showing how ‘extraordinary’ they are.
Paradox 2:
“The star must be simultaneously present and absent for the consumer”
The star needs to make sure that they are ‘present’ within the media as they need to keep fans remaining intrigued and interested in them but be sure not too be seen too often.
However, they also need to be slightly ‘absent’ for parts as if they weren't they would become too much for some fans.
