To produce what we consider to be great work is always fantastic but to produce what others consider to be great work is even better!
This year we are delighted that we have been shortlisted for an RIBA 2017 Regional Award for the design of this contemporary private dwelling in Charlbury.

Planning Approval for Pennie Lane Consultation for Brasenose CollegeWest Waddy ADP have been consulting with local residents regarding a proposal for high quality student accommodation located on the Abingdon Road, Oxford.
The proposal is at a very early stage of design and we, and our client Brasenose College, University of Oxford, have been keen to consult the public.
The ambition for the project is to provide much needed student
Pennie lane is a highly energy efficient replacement dwelling on a secluded site on the outskirts of Blewburry.
The design meets Lifetime Homes requirements and utilises modern methods of construction with rain water recycling and solar thermal renewable technology.
The design is contextually led, positioned to take advantage of a fantastic walnut tree which sits in the garden of the property. The house takes the form of 3 well crafted volumes that use traditional materials in a modern fashion.
The aim of the project is to create a high quality contemporary dwelling with low energy credentials and we are delighted that planning approval has recently been achieved.

Planning Approval at Long HanboroughWest Waddy ADP are delighted to have achieved outline planning permission at Long Hanborough. The high quality 169 home, development is situated to the south west of the settlement.
The masterplan seamlessly expands the settlement in a design that fully integrates
with both pedestrian and cycle connections.
The scheme, gained planning permission following a public enquiry at appeal following initial refusal by West Oxfordshire District Council and heavily involved both the Planning and Urban Design team at West Waddy ADP.
The reserved matters housing application has been recently submitted covering all details of design.
Included in the proposal is a new spacious doctors’ surgery to replace the existing cramped facilities at Long Hanborough. West Waddy ADP are retained as architects
for the new surgery which is currently in the early stages of design.
The proposal at Long Hanborough is the latest residential scheme for over 100+ homes to gain approval by the practice.

West Waddy ADP have been commissioned by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to deliver a series of seminars across England. The seminars give advice on planning policy and top tips for improving planning outcomes.
The commission follows a previous body of work for the RIBA to produce a report for Housing Space Standards undertaken in 2015.

The project also looks at the wider site to support rural crafts and cultural events. The ambition is for the site to generate sufficient income to become self-sufficient in future years.
Particular skill is needed to balance the tension between conservation and commerce in projects of this nature to ensure the historic significance and character of the heritage asset is not harmed by the intensification of use.
The project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and continues the firms tradition of heritage projects by building on the success of our previous HLF funded works at Manor Farm Barn in Ruislip.
The practice is preparing applications for Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent, and the HLF stage 2 pass and is retained for the delivery phase and implementation of works on site.
West Waddy ADP have been appointed as Architects and Heritage Consultants for restoration works on a series of Medieval Barns at Winterbourne near Bristol.
The Grade II* Listed barns date from the 1340s and have been described by Historic England as an ‘Exceptional survival of national importance’.
