ACTS 29 | SEPTEMBER 19 | PAGE 03

From the Pastor’s Desk

Sunday School Outlined

I. God’s Word disapproves tattling, backbiting, and slandering.

A. Tattling, backbiting and slandering are not of God but of the devil.

B. Tattling, backbiting and slandering are the effects of our fallen nature.

C. Tattling, backbiting and slandering are the works of the flesh in the believer’s life.

D. Tattling, backbiting and slandering dishonour God and disregard His personality.

The Church Engages to Avoid all Tattling and Backbiting and Slandering

PAGE 02 | SEPTEMBER 19 | ACTS 29

II. God’s Word discloses the effects of tattling, backbiting and slandering on the persons involved.

A. It wounds the tattlers, backbiters, slanderers more than the person attacked.

B. It weakens the faith of the tattlers, backbiters, and slanderers more than the person assaulted.

C. It widens the gap between the offenders’ reputation and the character of the persons affected.

D. It wins heaven’s chastisement and punishment.

James 4:11-12

MY heart always rejoices to see generous Christians being blessed by God. Such is an evidence that you are willing to obey God and that

you trust His promises! Let us be reminded that all of our time, abilities, possessions and even our life are entrusted to us by God, and our generosity to His work demonstrates that we truly trust Him. God truly loves a cheerful giver!

It was also a delight to be back home after a 10-day visit in Taiwan. God is continually showing how He works and changes lives. God has blessed us with 3 Filipino mission works, more souls being saved and baptized, and believers who are growing and faithfully winning souls. I would like to tell you that your faithfulness is always an encouragement to them. May this also serve as an encouragement to you.

As we learn through our Sunday School lesson and from the preaching, may our hearts be continually stirred to be “doers of the word, and not hearers only.” It is my joy to see our church advancing for God’s glory, with new converts growing and members being more established in their faith.

Area 4 is one of the pioneering areas of CBBC, SPL. I am privileged, together with my family, for the great responsibility that the man of God has entrusted to me.

Area 4 encompasses Landayan which has 6 subdivisions that include St. Francis Homes 2, Maremil Subd., Southfairway Homes, Maryland Homes, Rosa Homes, and Villa Paz Subd. Our Area also covers Tamuro, St. Francis Homes 3, Sibulo 2, Cataquiz 1,3,5 Olivarez Compound, Poblacion, San Roque, and stretches as far as San Antonio Putol, Rosa Rosario, Elvinda VII, Aurora Heights with its 3 subdivisions, and finally Cuyab.

For more than 5 years now, by the grace of God, I have witnessed how this Area has been blessed with members who stayed faithful and have responded to God’s call in the ministry.

Currently, Area 4 has 154 members, of whom 22 are already in the ministry. Every Sunday, it averages 102 regular attendees in the morning service and 93 in the evening service.

By the grace of God, we never experienced a drought, so to speak, every Thursday soulwin-ning. We have an average of 22 soulwinners and 115 souls won. I firmly believe that this has been the main reason why Area 4 has been blessed. We also average 3 first time visitors every Sunday.

It has always been our joy to see souls being saved and baptized, and lives being changed and challenged through the power of God.

We can never forget the man God has used, our beloved Pastor, Dr. Ed Laurena and his family. Indeed, without his vision and their steadfastness in the Lord’s work, our Area will not be experiencing what we are enjoying right now.

To God be the Glory!

We are so grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ that He blessed us as a family to become members of the greatest church we know, and that is the Christian Bible Baptist Church. Being children of God, we are truly privileged to be a part of the CBBC Church family. My wife and I acknowledge that the church is of a great importance for us parents in our child-rearing, especially in this generation we have today. We are thankful because the church always emphasizes the role of parents and the children as well, which is declared in the Word of God, through the pulpit, by the Pastor. As such, we are convinced that we should constantly seek for godly directives from the church. We admit that our two children are not either great or perfect since they also have their shortcomings; but still I praise God for what they are today. Without the counsel of the man of God and the influence of the church, our kids might not be what they should be. I am grateful to God that they have grown-up from the Sunday School ministry. I then thank the Sunday School teachers for the effort and time they spent for them.We moreover thank the church for all the Sunday School lessons painstakingly prepared every week for us to learn. We are exhorted in the adults’ class to be responsible parents. On the other hand, our daughter in the single working ladies’ class is taught to be a virtuous lady, while my son in his college men’s class is challenged to be a man with biblical conviction. We thank God, too, for the ministries of our church that help us serve God with dedication. Worth mentioning is the BHBC where I was once a student, encouraged to stand by the principles from the Bible. At the College, both adults and young people are trained and equipped in the service for God and Saviour Jesus Christ. With all of these, we say as a family, “Thank you, Lord.”

nalibing at nabuhay namagmuli. Roma 10:9-104. Sa pamamagitan ng panalangin, tanggapin mo si Hesus sa

iyong puso bilang iyong Tagapagligtas. Roma 10:13
