TENSES (Các thì)1. Simple Present (Hiện tại đơn)

- Simple present with “BE” + Positive statements (câu khẳng định)

be = am is are

am = ’mis = ’sare = ’re

I + am + tên/danh từ/tính từHe/She/It/Danh từ số ít (1) + is cụm giới từWe/You/They/Danh từ số nhiều (>=2) + are

Ex: I’m a student. He’s tall. They’re in the room.

+ Negative statements (câu phủ định): Add “not” after “BE” (Thêm “not” sau “BE”)

S + be not + ...

am not = ’m notis not = isn’tare = aren’t

Ex: I’m not a student. He isn’t tall. They aren’t in the room.

+ Questions (câu hỏi): Put “BE” before subject (Đặt “BE” lên trước chủ ngữ)Yes – No questions (Câu hỏi Có phải không?)

Be + S + ... ?Yes, S + be.No, S + be not.

Ex: Are you a student? Is he tall? Are they in the room?

Wh- questions (Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi)

Wh- + be + S + ... ?

Ex: What is he like? Where are they?

- Simple present with other verbs : always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom, never, today always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom, never: đứng sau “BE” và trước verbs+ Positive statements (câu khẳng định)

He/She/It/Danh từ số ít (1) + V (s/es) + …I/We/You/They/Danh từ số nhiều (>=2) + V + …

Ex: I get up at 6:00. She gets up at 6:00.

Ex: I don’t walk to school. She doesn’t walk to school.

+ Questions (câu hỏi)Yes – No questions

2. Near future (Tương lai gần): tomorrow, next + time, in + time+ Positive statements

S + be (am/is/are) + going to + V ...

Ex: I’m going to visit my grandfather this weekend. Nam is going to have a party with his friends next week. They’re going to go shopping tomorrow.

+ Negative statements

S + be not + going to + V ...

Ex: I’m not going to visit my grandfather this weekend. Nam isn’t going to have a party with his friends next week. They aren’t going to go shopping tomorrow.

+ QuestionsYes – No questions

Be + S + going to + V... ?Yes, S + be./ No, S + be not.

Ex: Are you going to visit your grandfather this weekend? Is Nam going to have a party with his friends next week?

Wh- questions

Wh- + be + S + ... ?

Ex: Who are you going to visit this weekend? What is Nam going to do with his friends next week?

3. Simple past (Quá khứ đơn): yesterday, last + time, time + ago+ Positive statements

S + V(ed)/V(qk)...

Ex: I talked to my friends yesterday. She took a bus to school last week.

+ Negative statements

S + didn’t + V...

Ex: I didn’t talk to my friends yesterday. She didn’t take a bus to school last week.

Wh- questions

4. Present Perfect (since, for, already, yet, never, ever)

Ex: I have talked to my friends about that. She has come here.

+ Negative Statements
