Estimados feligreses,
Hoy, 2 de febrero, honramos la Presentación del Señor en el
Templo de Jerusalén, cuarenta días después de Navidad.
Esta antigua ceremonia brindó una bendición a la madre, su
purificación después del parto y al niño, su inclusión en el
Pacto. Aunque hoy es domingo, la celebración de la
Presentación del Señor es tan importante que toma el lugar
del IV Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario. Esto se debe a que
seguimos durante el transcurso del año, la vida de Nuestro
Señor en orden cronológico.
La virtud de la Presentación es la santa obediencia. María y
José son ejemplos notables de obediencia a la ley. Porque
se conformaron a la ley de César Augusto de un censo para
el Imperio Romano mientras viajaban a Belén donde nació
nuestro Salvador y fueron obedientes a la ley de Dios sigui-
endo las prescripciones de la presentación del primogénito a
Dios en El templo
La obediencia de la Sagrada Familia es un modelo para
nuestro camino en la vida espiritual. Fue una obediencia
espontáneo y de confianza. Llevaron a cabo las obligaciones
de la ley "a la vez" y no dudaron de que la mano de Nuestro
Amoroso Padre Celestial los guió en cada paso.
Oremos para que obtengamos inspiración y renovación de
nuestra celebración de hoy. Que llevaremos a cabo la Ley
espontáneamente y con gran confianza.

Dear Parishioners,
Today, February 2 we honor the Presentation of the Lord in
the Temple in Jerusalem, forty days after Christmas. This
ancient ceremony provided a blessing for the mother, her
purification after childbirth, and the child, his inclusion into
the Covenant. Even though today is Sunday, the celebra-
tion of the Lord’s Presentation is of such importance that it
takes the place of the IV Sunday of Ordinary Time. This is
because we follow during the course of the year, the life of
Our Lord in chronological order.
The virtue of the Presentation is holy obedience. Mary and
Joseph are remarkable examples of obedience to the law.
For they conformed to the law of Caesar Augustus of a cen-
sus for the Roman Empire as they traveled to Bethlehem
where our Savior was born and they were obedient to the
law of God by following the prescriptions of the presenta-
tion of the first born son to God in the Temple.
The obedience of the Holy Family is a model for our path in
the spiritual life. It was spontaneous and trusting. They
carried out the obligations of the law “at once” and they
did not doubt that the hand of Our Loving Father in Heaven
guided them at each step.
Let us pray that we will draw inspiration and renewal from
our celebration today. That we will carry out the Law spon-
taneously and with great trust.
