This month’s “Creek Speaks” article kind of slipped-up on me. What with getting ready for Silver Ring Thing, dealing with the “Lowcountry Crud” passing through every member of my household, and starting my third year here at DCBC, the month of March arrived a lot quicker than I was expecting. What can I say? I’m human; I make mistakes, too. But as I sit here looking out my office window – watching the wind blow all the pollen around – I can’t help but be grateful. The past two years have brought a lot of good things to Doctor’s Creek. Oh sure, we’ve had our bumps and bruises along the way, but overall we are a richly blessed people. We may have suffered illnesses, but they help us to appreciate our health. We may have had times of lower attendance, but that helps us to be grateful when the church is full again. It’s only by going through the valleys of life that we learn to be truly thankful for the mountaintops – and for the past two years we’ve had more mountaintops than valleys. All of this reminds me of the chorus of a favorite song of mine. “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand; But I know who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand.” I don’t know what God has in store for us here at DCBC. A storm may be brewing on our horizon – just out of view – or perhaps the floodgates of heaven are about to break-open and God do something amazing in our midst! Whatever He has in store, as long as we cling tightly to Him, we can rest assured that everything is going to be just fine. So – welcome to March, my dear family! May God bless us all as we seek His face and strive to do His will. After all, it’s God’s world – we’re just living in it! Serving Jesus, Brother Kevin

Pastor’s Paragraphs

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Okay – I admit it. This month’s “Creek Speaks” article kind of

slipped-up on me. What with getting ready for Silver Ring Thing,

dealing with the “Lowcountry Crud” passing through every member

of my household, and starting my third year here at DCBC, the month

of March arrived a lot quicker than I was expecting. What can I say?

I’m human; I make mistakes, too.

But as I sit here looking out my office window – watching the

wind blow all the pollen around – I can’t help but be grateful. The

past two years have brought a lot of good things to Doctor’s Creek.

Oh sure, we’ve had our bumps and bruises along the way, but overall

we are a richly blessed people. We may have suffered illnesses, but

they help us to appreciate our health. We may have had times of

lower attendance, but that helps us to be grateful when the church is

full again. It’s only by going through the valleys of life that we learn

to be truly thankful for the mountaintops – and for the past two years

we’ve had more mountaintops than valleys.

All of this reminds me of the chorus of a favorite song of mine.

“Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand; But I know

who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand.” I don’t know

what God has in store for us here at DCBC. A storm may be brewing

on our horizon – just out of view – or perhaps the floodgates of

heaven are about to break-open and God do something amazing in our

midst! Whatever He has in store, as long as we cling tightly to Him,

we can rest assured that everything is going to be just fine.

So – welcome to March, my dear family! May God bless us all as

we seek His face and strive to do His will. After all, it’s God’s world

– we’re just living in it!

Brother Kevin
