    PUBLIC LIABILITY & HAZARD EVALUATION CHECKLIST

    Retail locations, whether they be large regional shopping centres, community shopping centres, strip malls or individualbusiness premises are required to discharge their obligations under their States legislation relative to access to thepremises and general public safety and occupiers of such premises are required to meet their obligations under their Statesspecific legislation relative to the class of businesses operated. They are also required to meet their duty of care under the

    States OH&S legislation.

    The following checklist has been prepared to assist owners and occupiers of commercial premises in identifying their OH&Sand liability risks. Occupiers should be aware of their States specific legislation relating to their business and OH&Slegislation. All sites are different and this checklist should be considered only as starting point and an indication of thetypical risks facing your industry.

    Are there any trip hazards in the carpark? These can include wheel stops,drain covers, pot holes and loosesurfaces
