Work Experience Research Participant, NVFEL, US EPA

Ann Arbor, MI Sep 2015 to Dec 2015 Working at the gasoline engine compliance center, on various projects related with motorcycle powertrain, marine engines, and heavy duty gasoline engines. Tasks assigned include powertrain modeling and simulation with MATLAB/Simulink, modeling of human driving patterns from OBD testing, and HIL diagnosis and calibration with Dyno test cell. Electrical Engineer, Industrial Automation Controls, LLC

Hackensack, NJ May 2015 to Sep 2015 Worked on projects involving motion control, automation control, embedded system, SQL database, and SCADA. Skills applied include LabVIEW development, PLC programming, fuzzy-logic control strategy, reverse engineering, and HMI design. Project customers include Stryker, Corp., and Stryker Sustainability. Projects succeed in benefiting the company with more future orders.

Project Experience Hybrid Powertrain Control Design for HEV with Battery Aging in Concern, HEV Project Ann Arbor, MI Jan 2015 to April 2015 Worked as a key member of a group of 4 to apply ECMS algorithm to the Toyota Hybrid System of the Prius II with the cost function considering battery aging. Contribution includes battery aging model design and validation, powertrain design of HEV using SIMULINK, and ECMS algorithm design using MATLAB. The results succeed improving the fuel economy while decreasing the battery aging. Adaptive Gear Shifting Schedule with Historical Driving Information, ISD Project Ann Arbor, MI Jan 2015 to April 2015 Worked in a group of 2 to apply dynamic programming strategy in gear shifting schedule based on historical driving information to increase fuel economy. Jobs include design and construct the integrated vehicle model based on the target vehicle. Modeling and calculation of the equivalent fuel consumption caused by gear shifting, and dynamic programming algorithm from past driving information to improve fuel economy by 5%. Boeing Augmented Operator Instructions, Senior Design

Troy, NY Jan 2014 to May 2014 Key member of 7 person Capstone team to implement Augmented Reality to increase the manufacturing efficiency at Boeing shop floor. Tasks includes implementing image processing on LabVIEW Vision Builder, helps establish real-time communication between PC and Android App on Google Glass via Bluetooth, and running manufacturing processing simulations in UG.
