Reviews fire protection plans, detection and alarm system, standpipe and documentations for DC1 stage buildings for compliance with applicable codes (NFPA, Uniform Building Code, Qatar Fire Safety Standards and other requirements).

Approves or denies plans as appropriate and advices applicant of needed revisions.

Maintains an awareness of new methods, materials, trends and advance in profession.

Conduct site inspections to determine whether the building’s fire and life safety provisions are being installed in accordance with the prescribed requirements of the NFPA Codes and Qatar Fire Safety Standards.

Supervise in the completion of required test and inspections relative to fire protection aspects of new construction projects (mostly high rise buildings).

Performs technical reviews and verifies fire safety products and equipment prior issuance of QCD Product Approval in compliance to Civil Defence requirement.

Performs other duties as required and instructed by immediate superior.

Conduct actual checking and/or fire protection system and/or warning system.

Conduct lecture/seminars on fire prevention and other emergencies for bureau personnel and for general public within the area of responsibility.

Identify corrective actions needed to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes and ordinances and conduct follow up inspections to see if corrective actions have been taken.
