1. Disease screening: Extensive experience in Screening for various diseases, caused by

Fungi, Bacteria, Nematodes and Viruses, of Vegetables like Tomato, Eggplant, Hot &

Sweet Pepper, Okra, Cucumber, Musk Melon, Watermelon, Cabbage and Cauliflower and

Field crops like Maize, Sorghum, Pearl Millet, Sunflower, Brassica (mustard), Rice, etc.

Have been instrumental in development of disease resistant varieties in all these crops, by

way of developing most practical screening techniques.

Worked with ICAR DMRL Department project from 1987 to 2007, pertaining to

Downy mildew screening of bajra, sorghum, maize; pathotype variability, oospore

viability and management aspects.

2. Disease Diagnosis and Management: Very good at disease diagnosis and

management of diseases of various crops. Have reported a few new diseases hitherto

unreported. Have developed disease management strategies for various crops and

practically implemented in the field.

3. Seed Health Testing: Being a Seed Pathologist by training, well aware of Seed Health

Testing Methods for Fungi, Bacteria and Viruses, preferably mycology.

4. Advanced training in modern scientific instrumentation handling including NMR, HPLC

operation and use in research.

Disease diagnostics: Identifying fungal spores, Biochemical and molecular characterization

of bacteria, mass multiplication, studies on molecular markers, biological assays on enzymes,

DNA damage studies
