NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE: Launched an effort to receive a Lottery Education Afterschool Program grant which was

received in the amount of $360,000 per year for a three year period (All three middle schools and the alternative school were funded)

Pursued funding for a JROTC program at CWHS and DCHS resulting in the first ever units in our school system’s history

Led Dickson County’s Race to the Top (RTTT) Scope of Work Efforts resulting in a 21st Century Leadership Academy, funding of our Virtual High School, extensive summer academic programming, and wireless efforts to assist principals in evaluations

Coordinated efforts to begin a Virtual High School resulting in a decreased drop-out rate and improved graduation rate

Spearheaded efforts in online learning in our system with the goal of all high school students taking at least one online course during their matriculation

Initiated a Graduation Committee to address drop-out and graduation goals with outstanding success

Co-crafted three new programming options at New Directions Academy to meet new challenges in academics and behavior

Developed a crisis response template that enables principals to easily insert school-specific information into their school crisis plan

Penned the first district-wide crisis plan with input from local law enforcement, principals, and Central Office personnel

Teamed with the Secondary Supervisor in the creation, development, and implementation of freshman academies in both high schools

Began a district-level service learning program and achieved the goals of significant service learning participation at all levels and the crafting of language toward a Service Learning Diploma of Distinction

Created the first Dickson County School Board Administrative Procedures manual, Responsible for keeping it updated both in hard copy and electronically

Spearheaded the Dickson County Aspiring Leaders’ Academy and created first and second year presentations, format, curriculum, and readings

Implemented the purchase of Verizon cell phones for use by district level and school level administrators as a means for instant crisis communication

Began an academic calendar adoption process soliciting input from all school employees Worked as a two-person team member to create a district-owned and operated emergency

text notification service to parents Wrote and received Dickson County’s first distance education grant Started an algebra camp as a way to target high-risk freshman and provided them with

remediation/support in order to give them maximum chances at high school success (Serves 100 students per year, employs 16 college students as assistants, hires teachers for three classes at DCHS and three classes at CWHS)
