DESCRIPTION

One of the best features on Slideshare is the Zipcast - an on-line broadcast I’ll be looking out to see who’s selling Responsible Tourism at Indaba 2012, and I’ll update this presentation with news and skinner – it should be fun! So: Sign up for a free Slideshare account at www.slideshare.net Go to www.slideshare.net/MartinHatchuel1/meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. South African time (GMT + 2:00). You’ll be able to see the slides (and me), and hear me speak – and you’ll also be able to ask questions via the site’s text messaging service The presentation should be about ½ an hour long.

We really don’t know what we’re

Lessons• Responsible Tourism and social media need one another. • No one really knows how to make the consumer responsible –

especially the corporates. But they do know how to add ‘carbon taxes’ onto tickets to pay for things like conservation and carbon off-setting programmes

• Akshelly, no: the small guys, Khanizeni Cultural Experiences, Sangha Lodges (in the Central African Republic), Uthando (love) South Africa, Calabash Tours, the Fair Trade in Tourism guys, (like Fair Trade Travel Pass, Grootbos, The Peech Hotel, Canopy Tours South Africa) – they’re getting right

• We need a lot more knowledge, and a lot more sharing if we’re going to ...

•Stop Sucking!
