They use Suspense, Tension& Excitement through out the mediums and provide thrills which keep the audience at the edge of their seats.

Fight/chase scenes are common methods within them.

Continue... Tension arises when character are placed in menacing

situation, Mystery or escape from where escaping seems impossible.

Principle character is unknowingly involved in

dangerous/ potentially deadly situation.

- Hero’s in thrillers ordinary citizens

unaccustomed to danger.

Most likely take place in ordinary suburb may take place in exotic settings eg. Foreign cities, desserts & polar regions.
