suspense. The aim for Thrillers is to keep the audience alert and on the edge of their seats. The protagonist in these films is set against a problem – an escape, a mission, or a mystery.

Crime Thrillers Crime Thriller film is a sub-genre that includes the aspects of a

thriller with a crime film plot. This sub-genre's plot usually centres around a serial killer, murderer, robbery, or manhunt.

Setting and location

Crime films are usually set in large, crowded cities to show a view of the other side to an individual in their normal life, for example down ally ways, fast cars, busy places and iconic buildings.

TV Series'’ E.g Sherlock like to use London and it’s famous landmarks to their advantage, Sherlock always gets in to the famous London Cabs to travel, people would automatically associate Sherlock with London straight away.

Directors like to use this method to establish the setting quickly, for example showing the London eye or Big Ben in the background will automatically show the audience that the setting is London
