RESEARCH INTO FONTS

Music magazine planning

Page 2: Research into fonts

My music magazine will mainly consist mainly consist of bold fonts which vary in size depending on whether it’s the title ,contents, sell lines or cover lines. These are a few options below on which I may use for my music magazine.

ZONE

This font is “Arial Black” in the size 48. I like this font because it Bold and seems simple yet affective. Even though my target audience are teenagers I believe this has classic look to it which may appeal to the upper end of my target audience. On the other hand this font may seem boring with not much going on.

ZONE This font is “Impact” in the size 66. I like this font because it is very bold and thick which creates Impact hence why its called Impact. It may engage my audience its very big and bold however it may be a little too bold.

This font is Mikodacs PCS. So far I like this font the most as it has a unique pattern and it is bold like fonts from other Hip Hop magazines such as Vibe and Source.

Title

For the front cover I have decided to use Mikodacs PCS because it creates impact and is professional however not too professional which seems suitable for my target audience. The font I will be using for the cover lines and sell lines will be TW Cen MT condensed TW Cen MT condensed Extra Bold as the font have a quirky and cool look to it.Contents

page For the contents I will use TW Cen MT condensed Extra bold Heading and TW Cen MT condensed regular for the contents and page numbers. I will use the same font for contents writing as the front cover because music magazine tend to keep the same font within the magazine.

Double Page Spread For the double page spread I will also be using TW Cen MT condensed for the writing however I might use italics depending if the double page spread is on a interview to distinguish the interviewer from the interviewee.
