RPG Game concept
Player is given the role of Prince Charming who’s on the quest of saving
Princess Rapunzel. In this game, the player is required to control the
character by moving left and right within the map to avoid monsters while
collecting coins. Player is able to buy the weapon, helper or items by killing
monster and earning points. The items can be bought from the Shop.
In order to fight the Witch, player has to get the Knight Sword (Long Sword) to
defeat the Witch at the end of the game. The Helper character helps to fight
the witch. However, player is required to gain 200 metres in distance. Player
is also able to purchase ladder and shampoo. These 2 items helps the player
to reach the top of the tower and save Rapunzel.

- Kill monsters and gain more coins
- Avoid obstacles and gain coin

Game Play
Player is given the role of Prince Charming. He is on a quest for saving the
Princess Rapunzel from the witch. Before defeating the Witch, player is
required to go on a journey. He has to avoid all mini monsters during the
journey.
Enemies would come in several archetypes. These enemies will hinder the
player’s progress so the player has to avoid these monsters during the
journey.
Player has to control the character around the map. The player is able to
collect coins during the journey and this will allow the player to buy the
upgrades from the Shop.
Using the 2 arrows keys to move around the map, Spacebar (when needed)
and S key for Shop and mouse/cursor to select.

Game Prototype 1
Using the basics and core mechanics of the idea we came up with, a game
prototype was made.
Keys:
- 4 arrow keys for movement
o WASD (Main controls to move character around map)
- 2 buttons keys for Defence and Attack
o J (for defend; shield)
o L (for attack; slash)

In Rescue Rapunzel, we chose to use digital arts and paper arts in the game that
are simple and focus more on cartoonish arts, which is more appealing to a wider
range age group.

At different stages of the game, it will be in bird’s eye view and first person
shooter view. The background area is rural type to create an atmosphere that we
want to make the player’s feel.

Game Prototype 2
The 2nd prototype will be slight different from the 1st Prototype. We will
be including avoidance in the gameplay to make the game more fun and
interesting.
Therefore, we going to take out the top down view gameplay in Rescue
Rapunzel and to make Rescue Rapunzel more toward the story line, we
slightly change the end part of the story from the original by Brothers
Grimm; adding animation into the Rescue Rapunzel.

RPG Game concept
Player assumes the role of a character on the quest for saving Princess
Rapunzel by controlling a character moving left and right the map to avoid
and gain and collecting coins to buy the weapon, helper or items.
In order to go to fight the Witch, player has to get the Knight Sword (Long
Sword), Helper to fight the witch and gain 200 (metre; using the ladder and
shampoo) to reach top of the tower.
