1 Orpic Definitions and RFQ/PO Instructions to Bidders for RFQ, PO & PC

1.1 Orpic is the brand name of Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company SAOC (Commercial Registration Number 1113003). OrpicAromatics is the brand name of Aromatics Oman LLC (Commercial Registration Number 1798189). Orpic Refineries is the brand name of OmanRefineries and Petrochemicals Company LLC (Commercial Registration Number 1134221). Orpic Polypropylene is the brand name of OmanPolypropylene LLC (Commercial Registration Number 1701266). The Orpic brand represents the integrated management of these three operatingcompanies and this RFQ may be issued by Orpic for and on behalf of any or all of these three operating companies, together with Orpic#s and theirrespective co-ventures, affiliates, officers, employees and agents, collectively the #Orpic Group#.

1.2 Bidder is Company responding to this RFQ with a Quotation. Bidder is requested to acknowledge receipt of this RFQ by return email to theProcurement Officer who issued the RFQ.

1.3 Seller/Contractor. For the purposes of this document Seller and Contractor shall mean the party that is contracted to Orpic.

1.4 Purchase Order, Service Order, Contract and Agreement shall mean the same.

1.5 Scope of Supply and/or Services shall be attached separately (if applicable)

1.6 Party means either of Orpic or the Seller/Contractor and Parties means both of them together.

1.7 Price means the price as more particularly described in the Service Order to be paid by Orpic to the Contractor.

1.8 Registration Requirements.Unless otherwise agreed by Orpic Bidder must be registered with Orpic & Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) as an approved Seller for thematerials / services to be offered by their Quotation. If Bidder is not registered, the registration forms are available from Orpic Procurement &Contracting Dept, PP Building, Sohar. Bidders may contact the Procurement Officer who issued the RFQ to arrange to collect the forms. These formsmust be completed and submitted by Bidder not less than 10 days before the Submission Date of this RFQ. Bidders must sign Orpic's ConfidentialityDeclaration or Non-Disclosure Agreement, (NDA) as directed by the Procurement Officer and submit with the Seller registration forms or the Quotation.

1.9 Quotation. Bidder shall submit its Quotation by completing the necessary sections of the enclosed Orpic RFQ only. Bidder may only indicatedeviations relating to the subject matter of the RFQ by clearly indicating where the Quotation differs from the RFQ requirements and any proposedamendments. However Orpic is not obliged to accept any deviations. Bidder shall provide the complete breakdown of pricing required. The Quotationand any resultant Purchase Order/Service Order shall be governed by Orpic General Conditions for Purchase and Minor Services, attached below, andOrpic may not accept any changes to these General Conditions of the Purchase Order for Purchase and Minor Services. Bidder must submit two signedcopies of the Purchase Order with all sections duly completed. Submitting a Quotation in any other format may result in Bidder's Quotation beingrejected at Orpic's sole discretion.

1.10 Acceptance. Acceptance by Orpic will be confirmed by the issuance of a Purchase Order/Service Order within the Quotation validity period whichshall be binding. One countersigned copy of the Purchase Order/Service Order may be returned to the Bidder.

1.11 Clarifications. If Bidder requires any further information or clarification regarding this RFQ then a request for clarification shall be sent in writing tothe Procurement Officer who issued the RFQ and whose name and email is stated above.

1.12 Regrets. If Bidder is not in a position to submit a Quotation, Bidder is requested to confirm by email to the Procurement mail.

1.13 Advance Payment Bond. If Orpic agrees to an Advance Payment then it will be on condition that the successful Bidder submits an AdvancePayment Bond in accordance with the General Conditions Applicable for Procurement of Goods and Services and in the exact format detailed inAppendix 3. If an Advance Payment for supply of Goods or Services is agreed then an Advance Payment Bond and or Bank Guarantee from aregistered bank in the Sultanate of Oman in the sum of (10%) of the Contract Value (or other agreed amount) shall be submitted by the Seller/Contractorto Orpic. Submission of any Advance Payment Bond or Bank Guarantee from a registered bank outside of the Sultanate of Oman shall be pre-approvedby Orpic prior to submission.

1.14 Submission of Quotation. The date, method and location for submitting the Quotation will be indicated on the front page of the RFQ. Any Quotationreceived after this date & time will be rejected or accepted at Orpic#s sole discretion.

1.15 No Obligation. Orpic is not obliged to accept the lowest priced Quotation or any Quotation. Orpic is not obliged to provide any reasons for rejectingany Quotation. Orpic may, at its sole discretion, reduce or increase the quantity ordered or split orders between Bidders.

1.16 Extension. Bidder must request any extension of time not less than 48 hours before the Submission Date. Orpic may or may not agree to award anextension at its sole discretion.

1.17 Validity. Bidder's Quotation shall be valid for not less than ninety (90) days from the Submission Date.

2. General Conditions Applicable for Procurement of Goods and Services

2.1 Payment. The Price of the Goods and/or Services shall be the amount set out in the Purchase/Service Order. The Price is the total amount due tobe paid by Orpic to the Seller in respect of satisfactory performance by the Seller/Contractor of its obligations under this Purchase/Service Order. ThePrice is inclusive of amounts in respect of any applicable taxes duties or similar charges and for Goods includes the costs of packaging, insurance andcarriage of the Goods. No extra charges shall be effective unless agreed in writing and signed by Orpic. Seller's/Contractor#s bid, quotation, development of offer or related to this Purchase/Service Order are for Seller's/Contactor#s account. Any legalizationcosts for packaging and documentation including Material Test Certificates or Conformance Certificates are for Seller's account. The Seller may invoiceOrpic for the Goods on or at any time after the completion of delivery. The Contractor may invoice Orpic for the Services performed on or at any timeafter Completion or as set out in the Scope of Services. Seller shall submit following documents for payment: Invoice; PO / PC copy; and Proof ofdelivery / service completion report.

2.2 Orpic shall pay undisputed and correctly rendered invoices within thirty (30) days of receipt of the invoice subject to Completion of the Services or toacceptance of the Goods. Payment shall be made to the Contractor's bank account. In the event of a dispute over all or any part of an invoice, Orpicshall pay the undisputed part in accordance with this Clause and the Parties shall discuss in good faith to resolve the disputed part. Orpic may, withoutlimiting any other rights or remedies it may have, set off any amount owed to it by the Seller/Contractor against any amounts payable by it to theSeller/Contractor under this Purchase/Service Order.

2.3 Audit Rights. Orpic shall have the right, to inspect and audit any of Seller's/Contractor#s records, including data stored on computers, books,personnel records, accounts, correspondence, memoranda, receipts, vouchers and other papers of every kind in connection with this Purchase/ServiceOrder and/or Goods and all transactions related thereto as may be necessary in the opinion of Orpic to verify that the requirements of thisPurchase/Service Order are being met and shall have access to all information relating to the rates and prices as may reasonably be required to verifypayments made to or by Seller/Contractor under or pursuant to this Purchase/Service Order. Such inspections and audits may be carried out by Orpic inrespect of this Purchase/Service Order at any time until expiry of twenty four (24) months from the end of the calendar year in which thisPurchase/Service Order is terminated or completed. Orpic shall use all reasonable endeavours to conduct any such inspections and audits in a mannerwhich shall result in a minimum of inconvenience to Seller/Contractor.

2.4 Liability & Indemnity. Seller/Contractor shall be responsible for and shall save, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Orpic from and against allclaims, losses, damages, costs (including legal costs), expenses and liabilities in respect of: a) loss of or damage to any property of Seller/Contractorwhether owned, hired, leased or otherwise provided by Seller/Contractor arising from or relating to the performance of this Purchase/Service Order; b)Personal injury including death or disease to any person who is an employee of Seller/Contractor arising from or relating to the performance of thisPurchase/Service Order; and c) subject to any other express provisions of this Purchase/Service Order, personal injury including death or disease orloss of or damage to the property of any third party to the extent that any such injury, loss or damage is caused by the negligence or breach of duty(whether statutory or otherwise) of Seller/Contractor.Orpic shall be responsible for and shall save, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Seller/Contractor from and against all claims, losses, damages, costs(including legal costs), expenses and liabilities in respect of: a) loss of or damage to Orpic's property, except that nothing in this clause will in any waylimit Seller/Contractor's obligations to remedy defects, whether owned, leased or otherwise obtained under arrangements with financial institutionsarising from or related to the performance of this Purchase/Service Order; b) Personal injury including death or disease to any person who is anemployee of Orpic arising from or relating to the performance of this Purchase/Service Order; c) subject to any other express provisions of thisPurchase/Service Order, personal injury including death or disease or loss of or damage to the property of any third party to the extent that any suchinjury, loss or damage is caused by Orpic's negligence or breach of duty (whether statutory or otherwise).

2.5 Consequential Loss shall mean: Consequential loss; and/or loss of production, loss of product, loss of use, loss of business and businessinterruption and loss of revenue, profit or anticipated profit whether direct or indirect arising from or related to the performance of this Purchase/ServiceOrder, whether or not such losses were foreseeable at the time of entering into this Purchase/Service Order. Except to the extent of any agreedremedies expressly provided for in this Agreement but notwithstanding anything else to the contrary in this Agreement, neither Orpic nor Contractor shallbe liable to the other for any Consequential Loss which may be suffered by the other in connection with this Agreement.

2.6 Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution. The laws of the Sultanate of Oman shall govern the construction, validity and performance of thisPurchase/Service Order. Unless otherwise agreed, any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Purchase/Service Order which cannot beresolved to the mutual satisfaction of the Parties then the Parties hereto agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Oman to resolve any matter indispute.

2.7 Force Majeure. Except as may be specifically otherwise provided in this Purchase/Service Order, neither Party shall be liable for delays inperformance or for non-performance directly occasioned or caused by Force Majeure. Force Majeure means Acts of God, war (declared andundeclared), riots, civil commotion, revolution, hostilities, epidemics, blockades, nuclear hazards, extreme weather conditions, acts of any Governmentcausing a political embargo or other political restraint adversely affecting the freedom to transact business with or in the Sultanate of Oman and anyother similar cause or of equivalent force occurring within the Sultanate of Oman which is beyond the control of the Parties, unavoidable and whichcould not reasonably be foreseen and which renders impossible the fulfilment of a particular term of this Purchase/Service Order. Strikes, lockouts ordifferences with workers which are limited to Seller/Contractor's personnel or those of Seller/Contractor's sub-Seller/Contractors and inability of eitherParty to secure funds shall not be regarded as Force Majeure.

2.8 Assignment and Sub-Contracting. Seller/Contractor may not assign, subcontract or transfer any part of this Purchase/Service Order or theobligations of Seller/Contractor under or related to this Purchase/Service Order without the prior written approval of Orpic. Approval by Orpic of asub-contractor shall not relieve Seller/Contractor from its responsibility for performance of the part of this Purchase/Service Order that is subcontracted.

2.9 Confidential Information. All information obtained by Seller/Contractor for or in connection with this Purchase/Service Order and Seller/Contractor'ssupply of the Goods/Services shall be considered confidential and shall not be used by Seller/Contractor other than for the purposes of supplying theGoods/Services, or divulged by Seller/Contractor, its servants or agents to any person, firm or corporation other than Orpic#s designated representative.The foregoing restrictions shall not apply to any information disclosed by Orpic to Seller/Contractor which: a) At the time of disclosure is in the publicdomain, or b) After disclosure becomes part of the public domain, or c) Seller/Contractor can show was rightfully in its possession at the time ofdisclosure without limitation or restriction as to use or disclosure, and was not acquired directly or indirectly from Orpic, or d) Seller/Contractor rightfullyreceives from any third party who did not receive such information directly or indirectly from Orpic with limitation or restriction as to use or disclosure.

2.10 Termination. In the event of Seller/Contractor's failure to perform or other breach of this Purchase/Service Order, Orpic shall have the right toterminate this Purchase/Service Order forthwith without being first obliged to seek any remedy by Seller/Contractor. Termination under this clause shall

be at no extra cost to Orpic. Orpic reserves the right to terminate this Purchase/Service Order at any time by giving Seller/Contractor written notificationspecifying the date of termination. Orpic shall pay Seller/Contractor for Goods satisfactorily delivered and accepted and Services satisfactorilyperformed and accepted up to the date of termination and other reasonable associated direct costs incurred in complying with Orpic's instructions. In noevent shall Seller/Contractor be entitled to any prospective profits or any damages resulting from such termination.

2.11 Costs. Each Party shall pay its own costs incurred in connection with the negotiation, preparation, execution and performance of this agreementand any documents referred to in it.

2.12 Variation. No variation of this agreement shall be effective unless it is in writing and signed by the Parties (or their authorised representatives).

2.13 Waiver. No failure or delay by a Party to exercise any right or remedy provided under this agreement or by law shall constitute a waiver of that orany other right or remedy, nor shall it prevent or restrict the further exercise of that or any other right or remedy. No single or partial exercise of suchright or remedy shall prevent or restrict the further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.

2.14 Language. This Purchase/Service Order is drafted in the English language. If this Purchase/Service Order is translated into any other language, theEnglish language version shall prevail.

2.15 Notices. A notice given to a Party under or in connection with this Purchase/Service Order shall be in writing and sent to the Party at the address orto the fax number given in this Purchase/Service Order or as otherwise notified in writing to the other Party. Any notice given under or in connectionwith this Purchase/Service Order shall be in the English language. All other documents provided under or in connection with this agreement shall be inthe English language, or accompanied by a certified English translation. If such document is translated into any other language, the English languageversion shall prevail unless the document is a constitutional, statutory or other official document.

2.16 Anti-Bribery and Corruption. A Person shall be defined as a third party including, but not limited to: government officials (including directors,officers and employees of government owned and/or controlled entities); any director, officer or employee of Orpic or its subsidiaries, or their relatives;any candidate for public office; or any agents or intermediaries of any of the foregoing. The Seller/Contractor agrees and confirms that, in connectionwith the award or execution of the Purchase/Service Order, and any and all transactions contemplated by this Purchase/Service Order, it will fullycomply with all applicable legislation relating to anti-bribery and anti-corruption, including, but not limited to, Royal Decrees (including: Royal Decree 7 of1974 promulgating the Oman Penal Code; Royal Decree 112 of 2011 promulgating the Law of the Protection of Public Funds and Avoidance ofConflicts; and Royal Decree 64 of 2013 ratifying the United Nations Convention Against Corruption), regulations, ministerial directions and orders of theSultanate of Oman. The Seller/Contractor agrees and confirms that it, and each of its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees,agents and any other person acting on its, or their, behalf has not, and will not, directly or indirectly, make, offer, authorise, promise, mediate or becomeany way involved in a payment or transfer of anything in value, including the provision of any advantage or any showing or providing favour or disfavourto anybody, or any service, gift, entertainment, promise, reward, rebate, discount, contribution, commission, incentive, inducement, to any Person whichis intended to be, or could reasonably be construed or perceived as being, an inducement or reward for that Person doing or not doing any act, orpromising to do or not to do any act. The Seller/Contractor agrees and confirms that, in connection with the award or execution of the Purchase/ServiceOrder, and any and all transactions contemplated by this Purchase/Service Order, it has and will apply effective anti-bribery and corruption reporting anddisclosure controls and procedures and has and will maintain internal accounting systems that are sufficient to show, in reasonable detail, alltransactions undertaken in relation thereto. Without prejudice to any other rights that the Seller/Contractor may have under law or otherwise, should theSeller/Contractor be considered to be in breach of any of the above provisions, Orpic may, upon written notice, immediately disqualify theSeller/Contractor from bidding, quoting, tendering, applying for or otherwise entering into the proposed Purchase/Service Order or terminate thisPurchase/Service Order (as the case may be) and refuse to allow the Seller to bid, quote, tender, apply or enter into any further or futurePurchase/Service orders, contracts or agreements with Orpic. The Seller/Contractor shall defend, indemnify and hold Orpic harmless from and againstany and all claims, damages, losses, penalties, costs and expenses arising from or related to, any breach of its commitments in this clause. Thisindemnity obligation shall survive termination or expiration of this Purchase/Service Order.

2.17 Business Ethics. In connection with Seller/Contractors performance of this Purchase/Service Order, Seller/Contractor undertakes that it willundertake and agree to act consistently with and to adhere to the principles of Orpic's General Business Principle in connection with Seller/Contractor'sperformance of this Purchase/Service Order. Failure to comply with this provision may constitute a Material Default giving rise to termination.

2.18 IP / Software. Where, as part of the performance under this Agreement, Contractor/Seller provides licensed software, Contractor/Seller shallprovide Orpic with a non-exclusive licence to use the software solely for Orpic's operational purposes. Orpic agrees to defend, indemnify and holdharmless Contractor from all damages and third party claims causes of action or damage arising from unauthorised use of the licensed software.

2.19 HSE. Contractor/Seller shall ensure that all personnel required to enter Orpic's offices or sites in connection with this Agreement shall observeOrpic's safety and environmental protection guidelines and Orpic's work site specific safety rules and policy. In particular the rules for PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) will be followed. Any required PPE shall be provided by Contractor to its personnel at no additional cost to Orpic.

2.20 Patent Rights. Contractor/Seller shall release, defend, indemnify and hold Orpic harmless against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs andexpenses (including lawyers# fees) concerning infringement or alleged infringement of any patent, registered design, trade mark, service-mark, copyrightor other intellectual property rights which may arise from anything done by or for Contractor/Seller in relation to the Services performed or Goodssupplied under the Service Order/Purchase Order.

2.21 Title and Risk. Title and risk in any Goods or Services provided as part of the Contract shall pass to Orpic on Completion.

2.22 Progress Checks, Inspections and Tests. Orpic shall be entitled to inspect the Goods or Services and any work thereon and to carry out any testsas it may require before delivery or acceptance. Seller/Contractor shall afford Orpic's representative every facility for such purposes, including access toContractor's site at all reasonable times. Any such inspection or tests shall not in any way relieve Seller/Contractor from any of its obligations under theAgreement.

2.23 Drawing and Technical Data. Contractor must comply with all general and specific requirements relating to drawings and technical data as set outin Purchase Order/ Purchase Contract. Any deviation from or modification to specifications of the Goods or Services as set out in Purchase Order/Purchase Contract is subject to Orpic's written approval. Seller/Contractor shall, when requested by Orpic, provide drawings and technical data forapproval and/or record purposes. Any such approval shall not imply that Orpic is responsible for the accuracy of any drawings or technical data otherthan its own.

3. General Conditions Applicable for Procurement of Goods Only (Purchase Orders)

3.1 Purchase Order means the contract between Orpic and the Seller for the sale and purchase of the Goods in accordance with the followingdocuments which are to be read and construed in the following order of priority: a) Purchase Order; b) Particular Conditions; and then c) GeneralConditions.

3.2 Delivery Period means the date(s) on which the Goods must be delivered as set out in the Purchase Order.

3.3 Delivery Location means the location specified by Orpic for the Goods to be delivered as set out in the Purchase Order.

3.4 Goods means the goods as more particularly described in Purchase Order.

3.5 The Contract. Orpic agrees to buy and the Seller agrees to sell and deliver the whole of the Goods to Orpic in accordance with the terms of thisPurchase Order.

3.6 Seller's Obligations

3.6.1 Delivery. Seller expressly agrees that time is of the essence for delivery of the Goods. Seller shall inform Orpic well in advance about the planneddelivery of goods. If the Seller requires Orpic to return any packaging material to the Seller, that fact is clearly stated on the delivery note. Any suchpackaging material shall be returned to the Seller at the cost of the Seller. The Seller shall deliver the Goods: a) On the Delivery Date; b) To the DeliveryLocation; and c) During Orpic's normal business hours, or as instructed by Orpic. Delivery of the Goods shall be completed on the completion ofunloading the Goods at the Delivery Location. Documents required for custom clearance and delivery of goods: Airway bill or bill of lading; Invoice;Packing list; and Certificate of Origin.

3.6.2 If the Seller: a) Delivers less than [95] % of the quantity of Goods ordered, Orpic may reject the Goods; or b) delivers more than [105]% of thequantity of Goods ordered, Orpic may at its discretion reject the Goods or the excess Goods, and any rejected Goods shall be returnable at the Seller'srisk and expense. If the Seller delivers more or less than the quantity of Goods ordered, and Orpic accepts the delivery, a pro rata adjustment shall bemade to the invoice for the Goods. The Seller shall not deliver the Goods in instalments without Orpic's prior written consent. Where it is agreed that theGoods are to be delivered by instalments, they may be invoiced and paid for separately. However, failure by the Seller to deliver any one instalment ontime or at all or any defect in an instalment shall entitle Orpic to the remedies set out in the Contract.

3.6.3 Supply & Packing Conditions. The Seller shall ensure that: a) The Goods are properly packed and secured in such a manner as to enable them toreach the Delivery Location in good condition; and b) each delivery of the Goods is accompanied by a delivery note which shows the date of thisPurchase Order, this Purchase Order number (if any), the type and quantity of the Goods (including the appropriate code number of the Goods to enableCustom Duty exemption, where applicable), special storage instructions (if any) and, if the Goods are being delivered by instalments, the outstandingbalance of Goods remaining to be delivered, together with any further information required as set out in the Purchase Order. Packets / boxes / otherpackaging must clearly show Purchase Order number and Orpic delivery location. Material Test Certificate or Conformance Certificate must be suppliedby Seller to Orpic on or before Delivery for the items indicated in the Purchase Order. All chemical and catalyst packages shall include: a) Theappropriate "HAZARD TYPE" and "HAZARD RATING LABEL" in bold letters; b) A lot number; c) Month & year of manufacture; d) Material expiry date ofthe product; e) Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS); f) Certificate of quality. Seller must state country of origin of Goods. Seller must state theappropriate international code (M.S. Code) for customs exemptions. Seller must specify weight, physical dimensions, size, sea or air worthy packing andall other relevant information relating to the delivery of Goods. All material delivered under the Incoterm DDP shall be delivered in open top trucks /vehicles and not in closed containers.

3.6.4 Acceptance and Defective Goods. After delivery of the Goods, Orpic shall have a period of fifteen (15) days to inspect the Goods and to carry outany testing to confirm that the Goods have been supplied and delivered in accordance with this Purchase Order. Upon satisfactory inspection of theGoods Orpic shall provide written confirmation to the Seller to confirm that the Goods have been accepted. If Orpic fails to provide written confirmation ofacceptance of the Goods within seventeen (17) days of delivery then the Goods will be deemed to have been accepted. If at any point, including for aperiod of eighteen (18) months after acceptance of the Goods or, in the case of plant and equipment, after twelve (12) months of the date ofcommissioning, whichever expires first, Orpic discovers that any or all of the Goods do not conform with their description or contain any defect thenOrpic shall be entitled to reject the whole or any part of the Goods by notice to the Seller. On receipt of notice and at the option of Orpic the Seller shalleither: a) Replace any or all of the Goods which do not conform with their description or which contain a defect; or b) Reimburse Orpic the whole or anypart of the Price which was paid by Orpic to Seller and which relates to the rejected Goods.

4. General Conditions Applicable for Provision of Services Only (Service Orders)

4.1 Agreement or Service Order means the contract between Orpic and the Contractor for the provision of Services in accordance with the followingdocuments which are to be read and construed in the following order of priority: a) Service Order; b) Particular Conditions; c) General Conditions; andthen d) Scope of Services.

4.2 Commencement Date shall be as set out in Service Order.

4.4 Place for Performance means the location specified by Orpic for the Goods to be delivered as set out in the Form of Agreement.

4.5 Services means the services or work as more particularly described in the Scope of Services. #Work# or #Works# shall have the same meaning asServices

4.6 Purchase Order means an order issued in writing by Orpic at any time during the Service Order instructing the Contractor to perform the Servicesspecified in the order within the time frame specified in the order. If the term Call Off, Call-Out, Job, Job Order, Work Order or similar terms appear in theService Order, they shall have the same meaning as Purchase Order, unless the context requires otherwise.

4.7 Scheduled Completion Date means the date as set out in the Service Order and or Scope of Services by which Contractor shall reach Completion.

4.8 Warranty Period means the period from the commencement of the Services up to one hundred and eighty days (180 days) after Completion duringwhich time Contractor shall remain liable for the correction of any defects in the Services.

4.9 The Contract. Orpic requires the Services to be performed and the Contractor has agreed to perform the Services on the terms and conditions setout in this Service Order.

4.10 Scope of Services. Contractor shall provide to Orpic the Services set out in Annex 3 (as that Annex may be amended from time to time by writtenagreement between the Parties).

4.11 Performance of Services and Warranties. Contractor shall exercise all reasonable skill, care and diligence in the performance of the Services andshall ensure that its staff exercises all reasonable skill, care and diligence. Contractor warrants that its staff involved in the provision of the Services willhave the requisite experience, qualifications and training to perform the Services in accordance with applicable industry practice, in a workman likemanner and which is reasonably satisfactory and acceptable to Orpic.

4.12 Contractor shall be liable to replace, at no cost to Orpic, within a reasonable time, any staff that Orpic reasonably considers do not have the abilityto adequately perform the Services or who have refused to comply with Orpic's reasonable instructions in respect of their conduct. Such staff shall beremoved from the assignment within 24 hours of Orpic issuing such instruction. The Services will be performed at the location(s) specified in the ServiceOrder. The Contractor shall ensure that its personnel shall: a) Comply with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable at thelocation of the Services; b) Comply with any instructions issued by Orpic relating to health, safety or the environment at the location of the Services; andc) Perform the Services in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with any of Orpic's health, safety and environmental requirements, plans orpolicies as applicable. Contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, government orders, and regulations (whether of Sultanate of Oman or otherwise)in performing its obligations under this Agreement. Contractor shall be deemed to have satisfied itself before entering into this Agreement as to: a) Theextent and nature of the Services and all things necessary for the proper performance and completion of the Services in accordance with the terms ofthis Service Order; and b) The correctness and sufficiency of the sums, rates, and prices set out in the Service Order. Any failure by Contractor to takeaccount of matters which affect the Services shall not relieve it from its obligations under this Agreement. Contractor shall cooperate with Orpic and allthird party suppliers and service providers to Orpic, so as to ensure that Contractor performs the Services in a coordinated, effective and timely manner.

4.13 Schedule. Contractor shall commence performance of the Services on the Commencement Date, and shall proceed to perform the same with alldue diligence to achieve Completion on or before the Scheduled Completion Date. Contractor shall be responsible for the programming of the Servicesand for independently controlling its progress.

4.14 Penalties. If the Contractor has not commenced or completed the Services in time the Contractor shall be considered in default of his obligationsunder the Contract. If the Contractor fails to commence or complete the Services in time the Contractor shall pay the Company the Penalties/LiquidatedDamages as stated in the Service Order for whatever reason other than Force Majeure or a delay caused by Orpic. The levying of Penalties/LiquidatedDamages by the Company shall be without prejudice to any other rights and remedies of Orpic, which shall include the right to have work performed byanother contractor. Orpic shall have the right to terminate the Contract if the Contractor has not commenced or completed the Services by the time themaximum amount of Penalties/Liquidated Damages has become due. Where so provided in the Contract, Penalties/Liquidated Damages may also belevied in respect of delays in the commencement or completion of Services performed on a Call-Out basis.

4.15 Penalties (Late Delivery). If specified in the Purchase Order and without prejudice to Orpic#s other rights and remedies under the Purchase Order orat law, Seller shall become liable to pay Orpic an amount equal to 0.1% of the total Purchase Order Value as defined in the Purchase Order for everyday or part thereof by which the Delivery Date specified in the Purchase Order is exceeded for any reason whatsoever, except for reasons attributable tofailure of Orpic to comply with the Purchase Order, up to a maximum of 10% of the total Purchase Order Value, or as amended and specified in thePurchase Order. If part of the Goods are delivered or can be put into useful operation the amount specified above shall be reduced proportionally. Theamount Seller is liable to pay to Orpic hereunder shall become due immediately the Goods are not delivered on the Delivery Date specified in thePurchase Order, without any notice or judicial intervention being required, and may be recovered by deduction by Orpic from Seller's invoices. In theevent a delay is caused by the gross negligence or wilful failure of Seller no limitation as set out herein shall apply.

4.16 Defects Liability / Remedy Period. If defects in the Services are discovered by Contractor or otherwise brought to the attention of Contractor byOrpic either during the performance of the Services or within the Warranty Period, Contractor shall be responsible for remedying such defects at its owncost and/or for the cost of having such defects remedied. Contractor shall as soon as practicable upon discovery of any defect or upon receiving writtennotification from Orpic specifying any defect, remedy the same at its own expense by performing remedial work. If Contractor fails within a reasonabletime to perform the remedial work as required by Orpic, Orpic shall have the right to have the necessary remedial work performed by other contractorsor sub-contractors. Orpic shall recover from Contractor all costs associated with remedying such defect, either directly from Contractor or by deductingsuch costs from any monies due or which become due to Contractor. Orpic shall use reasonable endeavours to mitigate such costs. Contractor'sfinancial liability in respect of costs incurred by Orpic shall be limited to the actual costs incurred by Orpic and in any event to a sum not greater than onehundred percent (100%) of the Price.

4.17 Call-Off / Purchase Order. issuing a Purchase Order and the Contractor shall perform the Service in accordance with Contract and time schedule specified in the Purchase Order.

4.18 Orpic shall have the right to modify or extend the Services specified in a Purchase Order at any time by means of a revision to a Purchase Order.Notwithstanding the expiry or early termination of the Agreement, Contractor shall not abandon any Services in progress and shall complete suchServices in accordance with Orpic's instructions. The terms and conditions of Agreement shall remain in full force and effect during the period requiredto complete these Services. Orpic does not guarantee any minimum quantity of call-off, nor does Orpic undertake to exclusively use the Contractor forthe performance of call-off Services.

4.19 Party Representatives. Orpic may appoint an Orpic Contract Manager who shall be authorised to act for and on behalf of Orpic in relation to thisAgreement. Contractor shall appoint a Contractor Representative who shall be authorised to act for and on behalf of Contractor in relation to thisAgreement.

4.20 No Partnership. Nothing in this Agreement, and no action taken under this Agreement: a) Creates a partnership; b) Creates a relationship ofprincipal and agent between any of the parties; or c) Otherwise authorises any party to bind any other party.

4.21 Licences and Permits. Contractor shall obtain and maintain, at its own risk and expense, such authorisations, permits and licences as may benecessary for the performance of the Services and which are required to be obtained and maintained in Contractor's name.

4.22 Insurance. Without in any way limiting or detracting from Contractor's liabilities under any other provisions of this Agreement or the law, Contractorshall on or before the Commencement Date, at its own cost and expense, take out and maintain for the duration of the Contractor's liability under thisAgreement and the law, each of the insurances set out below with reputable insurers reasonably acceptable to Orpic. a) Any insurance which may berequired by law for or with respect to the Contractor Personnel; b) Adequate liability insurance for motor vehicles and mobile equipment (owned,non-owned or hired units) employed by the Contractor or any Subcontractor in connection with the performance of the Contract; and c) Adequate thirdparty liability insurance to cover his liabilities under the Contract with respect to Orpic and third parties.

ORPIC 51A2

SCOPE

This Standard covers technical requirements for the supply of valves for Seawater

Cooling System Improvement project in Sohar Refinery and shall be used to supplement

the requirements of the valve requisition. It shall be read in conjunction with Valve

Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC) and the documents listed in Section 17 of this Standard.

STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS

All valves shall comply with the requirements of this Standard, the relevant

Manufacturing Standards, Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), and relevant Reference

Documents listed in Section 17 of this Standard.

For projects subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC, all valves

supplied shall confirm to its requirements including CE marking. All valves in these

projects shall satisfy the most stringent categorisation requirements unless otherwise

identified in the requisition.

Valves supplied to a "Manufacturer's Standard" shall be subjected to the review and

approval of Orpic Engineering Department.

In the event of any conflict of requirements or when interpretation of requirements is

needed, clarification in writing shall be obtained from Orpic Engineering Department

before proceeding with manufacture. After order placement, deviations shall be via

the submission of a Concession Request Form for review and approval by Orpic

Engineering Department.

Bidder is responsible for ensuring all materials dispatched to site, confirm to the

requirements specified in the Material Requisition and in the Standards and

Specifications attached thereto. Any proposed substitutions shall be subject to

approval by Orpic Engineering Department.

Bidder shall satisfy all National, State and Local Authority Legislation Regulations and

Practices.

Bidder shall list on the Deviation / Clarification List (DCL) Attachment 5 of this Standard

all instances in which the valves offered deviate from the Requirements of the Material

Requisition, this Standard, Valve Datasheets, Standards and Specifications attached or

referenced in the requisition. The completed DCL shall be included in the technical bid.

In case of no deviations, bidder shall write “no deviations” on the form and submit. After

order placement a concession will not normally be granted.

Bidder shall complete the Quotation Check List (Attachment 4 of this Standard) and

include in the technical bid. Bids without Attachment 4 shall be treated as incomplete

and rejected.

Valves shall comply with the standards listed in Tables 1 and with the additional

requirements as stated in this Standard.

Valve trim numbers for gate, globe and check valves are in accordance with API 600

latest edition unless specified otherwise on Valve Datasheets. Valves specified as API

trim 10 shall have a minimum 50 HB differential hardness between the seating surfaces

of the body and obturator.

DESIGN AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Corrosion Allowance

The minimum body wall thickness of ASME B16.34 is sufficient for 2.5mm corrosion

allowance. When the specified corrosion allowance is in excess of 3mm, the additional

corrosion allowance shall be added to the valve body. This additional corrosion

allowance shall be specified on the individual Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

3.2 Pressure / Temperature rating

All valves shall have a seat pressure / temperature rating identical to the valve body

and flange rating up to the maximum design temperature specified on Valve

Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), reduced pressure / temperature rating due to seat material /

design is not acceptable.

All soft seat and seal materials shall be suitable for maximum design conditions and

service fluids stated on Valve Datasheets. Bidders shall submit in the technical bid,

pressure / temperature graphs or charts for all valves with soft seats or seals.

All seat and seal materials used in pressure class 600 and above shall be resistant to

Explosive De-compression.

3.3 Compact style forged gate, globe & check valves ≤ 1 1/2" NPS (DN40)

Forgings shall be drop forged close to final shape.

Weld repairs to forgings are not permitted.

Valves made from bar material are not acceptable.

Valves shall be reduced port unless specified as full port on Valve Datasheets 51A1

(ORPIC). Full port valves shall have minimum port sizes in accordance with Table 2.

Extended body compact steel gate valves shall have integrally forged extensions,

welded on extensions are not acceptable.

Valve stems shall be one piece design and made from wrought material.

Valve stem packing glands shall be self aligning.

3.4 Gate and Globe Valves ≥ 2" NPS (DN50)

Gate valves 2"NPS (DN50) and larger shall have a flexible wedge unless otherwise

specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

Gate and globe valves shall have welded in seat rings unless specified otherwise on

Valve Datasheets.

Gate and globe valves shall be suitable for repacking under pressure in the fully open

position, subject to limitations advised by the valve manufacturer.

Valve stems shall be one piece design and made from wrought material.

API 600 gate valves designated on the requisition or on Valve Datasheets as “full bore”

or for “hot Tapping” shall not be fitted with seat rings which obstruct the bore. Bidder

shall confirm in the technical bid the actual diameter through the bore measured from

the centreline of the end flanges.

Double block and bleed gate valves shall confirm to the requirements of ASME B16.34

and shall provide an upstream seal, downstream seal and a body bleed between them

in a single valve. Testing requirements and approval criteria shall be as specified on

Valve Datasheets.

Gear operated gate and globe valve shall be fitted with a visual valve position

indicator, the position indicator shall be weatherproof and prevent water ingress into

the stem tube / gearbox.

Pressure seal type bonnets shall be supplied only when specified on Valve Datasheets,

bidders shall include full details of their proposed pressure seal arrangement in the

technical bid.

Parallel slide type gate valves shall be supplied only when specified on Valve

Datasheets. Valve shall be Venturi type with spring loaded disc and eye type ring to

close the gap between the seats in the open position.

Check Valves ≥ 2" NPS (DN50)

Bidder shall provide disc/plate clearance dimensions in the technical bid where the

obturator extends beyond the flange sealing during opening.

Requisitions for wafer check valves shall state the OD, wall thickness and lining thickness

(if applicable) of the mating pipe. Supplier shall confirm in his quotation that the mating

pipe work bore will give adequate disc swing clearance.

Dual plate type check shall be ‘retainer less’ type unless specified otherwise on Valve

Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

Retainer less design shall not interrupt or reduce the flange gasket sealing area.

Swing Check Valves - Bidder shall provide a drawing in the technical bid of any holes

through the valve body used for inserting / removing the hinge pin. Drawing shall show

how the hole is sealed and secured. Threaded hinge pin plugs are not permitted.

Swing check valves shall have welded in seats unless specified otherwise on Valve

Datasheets.

Swing check and dual plate check valves shall be suitable for horizontal installation and

vertical installation with upward flow.

Pressure seal type bonnets shall be supplied only when specified on Valve Datasheets,

bidders shall include details of their proposed pressure seal arrangement in the

technical bid.

3.6 Ball and Plug Valves

Ball valves shall be of a “fire safe and anti-static” design that has been qualified by fire

testing in accordance with API 607 and the tests witnessed by a recognised

independent third party.

All sizes, types and ratings of ball valve shall be proven fire safe to the satisfaction of

Orpic Engineering Department. Bidders shall provide copies of qualifying test

certificates and test reports upon request. Valves not meeting the foregoing

requirement shall not be purchased as "fire safe".

Ball valve stem retention shall not depend on the packing gland. A bottom entry

shouldered stem is preferred.

Bidder shall identify the means for pressure relief of body cavities in the open and

closed positions and provide details in the technical bid.

All ball valves shall be flanged end design, socket weld / threaded end valves are not

acceptable.

Lever operated valves shall be supplied complete with levers manufactured from steel

or ductile iron.

Levers shall be in line with the pipeline when the valve is open, valve top works shall be

designed such that incorrect orientation of the lever is impossible.

Valves shall have mechanical stops in the open and closed positions, gland adjusting

screws shall not form part of the stop mechanism.

Lever length shall not exceed twice the face to face dimension of the valve.

Soft seated valves shall be clearly marked by the manufacturer with the seat material

and maximum working temperature and pressure.

Plugs in steel plug valves shall normally be of similar material to the body, and hardened

or hard faced to minimise galling. Cast iron plugs in steel valves are not acceptable.

Lubricated plug valves for service up to 260°C shall be fitted with combination

lubricator and charged with a lubricant suitable for the service stated.

Sleeved and lined plug valves where the plug is electrically insulated from the body

shall have an anti-static device fitted.

Plug valves shall be of a fire tested design when specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1

(ORPIC).

Lever operated ball valves in lines insulated for Acoustic Attenuation shall have a

120mm extended spindle (measured from the valve bonnet) to ensure that the lever

clears the valve insulation. The spindle to have an outer stationary tube welded to the

valve bonnet and have a weather seal at the lever end. The stationary tube enables

the insulation to be properly sealed around it.

For soft seat and seal valves the supplier shall provide relevant literature with his bid

confirming the maximum working pressure and temperature for the valves offered

3.7 Butterfly Valves

Bidder shall advise details of any installation orientation restrictions or recommendations

in the technical bid.

Bidder shall provide disc clearance dimensions in the technical bid where the disc

extends beyond the flange sealing faces during opening.

Butterfly valves shall have a one piece shaft.

All gear operated butterfly valves shall be fitted with a disc position indicator. Valve

shaft shall also indicate the disc position when the gearbox is removed.

Wrench operated butterfly valves shall be capable of being positively locked in

position.

Butterfly valve shaft retention shall comply with API 609.

Butterfly valves in water services may be used for throttling service and subject to

vibration. The disc to shaft connection shall be a robust design suitable for throttling

service design that has been qualified by fire testing in accordance with API 607 and

the tests witnessed by a recognised independent third party. All sizes, types and ratings

of butterfly valve shall be proven fire safe to the satisfaction of Orpic Engineering

Department. Bidders shall provide copies of qualifying test certificates and test reports

upon request. Valves not meeting the foregoing requirement shall not be purchased as

"fire safe".

Gear operated butterfly valves shall be pressure tested with the final contract gearbox

fitted and the stops adjusted during pressure testing.

Triple eccentric type butterfly valves shall provide bi-directional sealing. Valves shall be

pressure tested per API 598 and subject to high pressure & low pressure closure test in

both directions, closure test acceptance criteria shall be API 598 Table 6 for “resilient

seated valves” in the preferred direction and for “metal seated valves except check” in

the non preferred direction. This level of sealing performance equates to Tight Shut Off

(TSO) when this term is used in reference to triple eccentric butterfly valves with metallic

seating elements. When used in reference to butterfly valves with a soft seating element

the valve shall meet the sealing requirements for resilient seated valves in both

directions.

Vendor shall advise preferred direction for installation.

3.8 End Connections

Flanged end valves shall have flanges cast / forged integral with the body. Welded on

flanges are not permitted.

The body end flanges of all flanged valves shall be drilled for through bolting. Flanges

which are drilled and tapped for studs are not acceptable unless approved by Orpic

Engineering Department. Where tapped holes are permitted, the depth of thread

engagement shall be at least 7/8 times the nominal thread diameter. Valves offered

with tapped flanges shall be listed on the Deviation / Clarification List (Attachment 4 of

this Standard).

Wafer lug style valves shall be drilled for through bolting.

Where valves are offered with any tapped blind holes, bidder shall include heavy

hexagon sett bolts. Bolt length shall be suitable for the tapped holes plus the mating

flange and gasket. Bolt material and certification shall comply with Valve Datasheets

51A1 (ORPIC) and this standard.

Tapped holes ≤ 1" shall be threaded UNC, 1 1/8" and larger shall be threaded UN8

thread series.

The gasket sealing surface of flanged end valves shall be as per the applicable ASME

standard unless specified otherwise.

The ends of butt weld end valves shall be to ASME B16.34 unless specified otherwise on

Valve Datasheets. The nominal pipe size and wall thickness for mating of bevel ends

shall be as stated on the requisition.

Butt weld end valves shall not be manufactured from castings with flanged ends.

The ends of socket weld valves shall be in accordance with ASME B16.11.

The ends of screwed valves shall be threaded female to ANSI B1.20.1 (NPT). Screwed

ends of extended body valves shall have male NPT taper threads.

3.9 Face to face Dimensions

Valves shall be supplied with face to face dimensions per the standard specified on

Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

Where the product standard specifies ‘manufacturer’s standard’ dimensions, bidder

shall advise the dimensions in the technical bid.

The face to face dimension of plug valves shall be the same as gate valves where

possible. Where this differs bidder shall advise in the technical bid.

3.10 Hand wheels

Hand wheels shall be solid type. Pressed steel construction is not permitted.

Hand wheels shall be sized such that the valve can be opened and closed at the full

rated pressure with a maximum rim pull effort of 350N. This applies to direct hand wheel

operated valves and gear operated valves.

Bidder shall identify in the technical bid any items offered with impact type hand

wheels.

Maximum hand wheel diameter shall be limited to 900mm.

For torque seated valves a rim pull effort greater than 350N is acceptable at the point

of closure in accordance with MSS SP91.

3.11 Manual Gear Operators

Gear operators shall be heavy duty type and shall be weatherproof by total enclosure.

Bidder shall state in the technical bid when offering a valve with gear operator.

Gear operators for gate and globe valves shall be bevel type unless spur type is stated.

Both bevel and spur gear operators shall be the type with 4 or 8 bolt mountings which

allows them to be orientated on site to any of 4 – 90° positions. Normal condition of

supply shall be with the pinion shaft at right angles to the pipe run.

Gear operated ball and butterfly valves shall normally be provided with worm gears.

Valves shall be pressure tested with the final gearbox fitted and the stops adjusted.

Bidder shall state in the technical bid the number of hand wheel turns required to open

/ close gear operated valves.

When the requisition calls for a chain wheel to be fitted it shall be of the direct mounted

adjustable sprocket rim type with chain guides and chain included.

Extension stems when specified on the requisition shall be to manufacturer’s standard,

adequately braced and shall terminate with a standard hand wheel supplied

complete

Valves shall be supplied with gear operators as indicated in Table 3. Bidder shall advise

in the technical bid any instances where valves outside the scope of the table 3 require

a hand wheel rim pull effort of more than 350N and quote an option for a valve with

gear operator.

Valves with extension spindles

When specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), valves shall be supplied complete

with extension spindles per the dimensions specified in Valve Datasheets.

Direct hand wheel operated valves shall be supplied complete with a simple spindle

extension to provide the required C/L Pipe to C/L operator dimension as specified in

Valve Datasheets.

Gear operated valves shall have extension spindle with an outer tube such that the

gearbox is at the top of the extension. The extension shall provide the required C/L Pipe

to C/L operator length as specified in Valve Datasheets.

All extension spindle assemblies shall include a valve position indicator at hand wheel

elevation.

Bidder to advise details of recommended support brackets on the valve drawing.

Extension spindles shall be painted to the same specification as the valve.

Valves shall be pressure tested and shipped with the extension spindles fitted.

3.13 Bonnet / Cover Joints and Gaskets

Gasket graphite purity shall be 98% minimum with a maximum chloride content of 50

ppm.

Bonnet gaskets for compact style (API 602 / ISO 15761) gate globe and check valves in

classes 150, 300, 600lb rating shall be circular spiral wound type unless specified

otherwise on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC). Gasket shall be retained in a recess

designed to control compression and prevent blow-out. Gasket materials shall be as

stated on Valve Datasheets.

Bonnet / cover gasket type and material for gate globe and check valves sizes 2" NPS

(DN50) and larger in classes 150, 300, 600lb rating shall be spiral wound type unless

specified otherwise on Valve Datasheets. Bidders shall confirm in the technical bid

valve bonnet flange design is suitable to fully seat the gasket.

Bonnet / cover gasket type and materials for ASME classes 900lb and above shall be as

specified on Valve Datasheets. When metallic ring joints are specified the gasket shall

be approx 30 BHN softer than the flange material, bidder shall advise in the technical

bid any instances where this requirement cannot be achieved.

3.14 Bonnet / Cover and Gland Bolting

Bonnet / Cover bolting material specification and grade shall comply with Valve

Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

Gland bolting shall be the same nominal chemistry as the valve body, bidder to advise

material and grades proposed in the technical bid.

For valves with bolted on yokes, the yoke bolting shall be the same material

specification and grade as the bonnet bolting.

All bolting shall comply with the applicable product standard for the valve except as

specified above.

3.15 Weld repairs to castings

Weld repairs to castings shall be made using procedures and welders qualified to ASME

IX.

Weld repairs shall be subjected to Post Weld Heat Treatment when specified by the

ASTM Material Specification, Section 4 of this Standard or when specified on the

datasheet.

Weld repairs shall be examined using the same technique that found the defect.

Weld repairs to castings in hydrogen service shall comply with the requirements of

Section 4 of this Standard.

Repair welds to austenitic stainless steel castings shall be solution heat treated unless

agreed otherwise with Orpic Engineering Department.

Repair welding WPS, PQR and welder qualification records shall be submitted for review

and approval by Orpic Engineering Department before the repair. WPS shall be specific

to repairs and describe how defects are removed and NDE of the excavated area prior

to making the repair.

3.16 Production Welds and Weld Overlays

Production welds and overlays shall be made using procedures and welders qualified

to ASME IX. Welding WPS, PQR and welder qualification records shall be submitted in

accordance with applicable project standard for Orpic Engineering Department

review and approval.

Weld Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualifications shall take account of the

service conditions on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC) and include post weld heat

treatment and hardness survey as necessary, see Section 4 of this Standard.

13 Cr and stainless steel deposit welding on carbon steel base material without a buffer

layer is not acceptable. Minimum 2 pass overlay to ensure nil dilution at product

interface shall be provided. WPS and supporting PQR of weld overlay shall be submitted

for review and approval by AMEC FWUK OU Engineering Department prior to welding.

Hard facing overlay procedures shall be designed to prevent dilution of the overlay

deposit and ensure that finished overlay will be resistant to galling and meet the

minimum hardness specified in the product standard. The base metal shall also comply

with any specified maximum hardness after overlay. WPS and supporting PQR of

hardfacing procedure shall be submitted for review and approval by Orpic Engineering

Department prior to welding.

The finished thickness of hard facings shall comply with the valve product standard or

1.6 mm if no minimum is specified in the product standard.

Electroless Nickel Plating (ENP) is not acceptable as a hard facing.

When small bore valves (up to and including 1 1/2" NPS / DN40) are required to have

welded bonnets the weld shall be full penetration utilizing prepared weld bevels,

threaded and seal welded bonnets are not acceptable.

Visual inspection of welds shall be to ASME B31.3 requirements.

Bidder shall identify in the technical bid any parts proposed for fabricated by friction

welding.

Internal valve parts of martensitic (13 Cr) material shall not be tack welded.

Weld overlay on internal valve wetted parts shall include all bearing and packing

surfaces.

3.17 Valve Gland Packing

All valve types are grouped according to the service for which the various types of

gland packing are suitable. These groupings are shown in Table 4 below.

No deviation from the acceptable types specified in is permitted without prior approval

of AMEC FWUK OU Engineering Department.

Type ‘A’ valve packing shall be of the die formed graphite ring type with braided

graphite anti extrusion top and bottom wiper rings. Die formed rings shall have high

purity graphite (min 98%) incorporating a non-metallic, inorganic, phosphorous based,

passivating corrosion inhibitor impregnated prior to die forming. The chloride content

shall be limited to a maximum of 50 ppm.

Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC) will specify gland packing materials for specific service

duties not covered by Table 4.

All valves shall be packed and adjusted ready for service with provision for further in

service adjustment.

Lantern rings shall not be fitted unless specified on Valve Datasheets.

Stuffing box dimensions and surface finish for rising stem valves shall as a minimum

comply with the applicable product standard. The number of packing rings shall

comply with the product standard minimum and be consistent with current best

practice to provide a low friction, low emission packing. Metallic or solid graphite

spacers shall be used to fill excess stuffing box depth, spacers shall be fitted under the

packing, extra packing rings shall not be used in lieu of spacers.

Bidders are requested to include in their technical bid, details of any fugitive emissions

cyclic (including thermal cycles) type tests carried out on standard production gate

and globe valves and advise fugitive emissions levels that can be expected over the

range of temperatures tested.

Bidders are requested to advise in their technical bid, details of facilities available to

carry out gas leak testing and fugitive emissions testing.

3.18 Tapped Connections

Tapped connections shall normally only be provided when specified on Valve

Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC) / SP item Datasheets (50B50), connection size and location

will be specified on the data sheet.

Bidder shall state in his technical bid all instances where threaded plugs are necessary

to test the valves i.e. trunnion mounted ball valves.

Tapped connections shall be threaded female to ASME B1.20.1 (NPT) unless specified

otherwise.

Tapped connections shall be supplied complete with plugs. Plugs shall be of the same

nominal chemistry as the valve body, cast plugs shall not be used.

Plugs shall be supplied with material test certificates to the same standard as the valve

body and be permanently marked with the heat number or code.

3.19 Locking facility

When specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), valves shall be provided with a

facility to enable the valve to be locked in the open and closed position. The device

shall be permanently fixed to the valve and shall not rely on being locked to hold loose

components in place. Padlock is not required.

Bidder to submit a drawing of his proposed locking device in the technical bid.

3.20 Valve interlocks

All manually operated valves shall be suitable for retrofitting of valve interlocks by others

without affecting the pressure envelope or valve manufacturers / bidder warranty.

The valve bidder shall be responsible for liaison with the selected interlock bidder to

ensure compatibility of the valve and interlock. All valve top works details required by

the interlock manufacturer shall be supplied without extra charge.

3.21 Valves in Vacuum Service

When vacuum service is specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), valve design and

material shall comply with Valve Datasheets. Manufactures shall confirm in the

technical bid that they have previously vacuum tested and supplied valves in the size

ranges under consideration for vacuum service and demonstrate same by providing in

the technical bid vacuum test reports in accordance with ASME Section V Article 10

Appendix IX (Hood Technique) with a vacuum test pressure of 2.2 Torr or less and a

maximum acceptable leakage rate into the valve of

Valves 1/2" NPS (DN15) – 2" NPS (DN50) = 2 x 10-5 std cm3/s

Valves 3" NPS (DN80) – 12" NPS (DN300) = 4 x 10-5 std cm3/s

Valves 14" NPS (DN350) – 24" NPS (DN600) = 6 x 10-5 std cm3/s

Valves 26" NPS (DN650) and larger = 3.3 x 10-6 std cm3/s per cm of stem circumference

at the valve gland

Successful bidders shall vacuum leak test to the above specification and acceptance

criteria, one off each size, rating and material of gate globe & butterfly valve per PO /

PO amendment. Valves shall be selected from the order at random by AMEC FWUK OU

Inspection Engineer or Representative of Inspection Agency assigned by AMEC FWUK

OU. The same inspector shall witness the tests. In the event of failure another valve of

the same type, size, rating and material as the failed valve shall be tested. If this valve

passes the test the failed valve shall be reworked and retested. Failure of the second

valve shall result in rejection of all valves of that type, size, rating and material batch.

Bidder shall investigate the cause of failure and inform Orpic Engineering Department

of their findings and proposed corrective actions. All valves in the batch shall be re-

worked, the failed valves and a further 10% (selected at random by AMEC FWUK OU

Inspection Engineer or Representative of Inspection Agency assigned by Orpic shall be

tested.

Check valves do not require vacuum testing or qualification by historic test reports.

3.22 Valves in Acoustic Vibration Service

Valves in acoustic vibration service shall have threaded fasteners fitted with locknuts or

suitable thread locking compound.

3.23 Valves in Caustic Service

For Carbon Steel, Impact Tested Carbon Steel, and Alloy Steel (Cr-Mo) valves, weld

repairs made after castings have been normalised and all production welds shall be

subject to a stress relieving post weld heat treatment.

4 MATERIALS SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

4.1 Carbon Steel and Impact Tested Carbon Steel

4.1.1 Carbon steel ASTM A105N and ASTM A216 WCB

The chemical composition by ladle analysis shall be restricted as follows:-

Carbon: 0.23% max

Carbon Equivalent shall be calculated and reported on the material certificates.

All carbon steel material shall be supplied in the normalised condition.

Hardness of production welds shall be <200 HB.

Forgings and castings shall comply with the following chemical analysis

Carbon Equivalent shall be calculated and reported on the material certificate using

the formula given in this section.

Chemical Analysis shall include all elements required by applicable material standards

as well as the elements used for the determination of Carbon Equivalent.

All casting repairs and production welds made after the castings have been heat

treated shall be stress relieved. Welding procedure qualification for production welds

and casting repairs shall include a hardness survey per BS EN 1043-1The use of Carbon

Steel plate material for process wetted parts is prohibited.

4.2 Super Duplex Stainless steel ASTM A182 F53, ASTM A890 Gr 5A

Forgings and castings shall be supplied in accordance with the ASTM specification in

the solution annealed and quenched condition.

For forged material grade ASTM A182 F53, Supplementary note S2 shall be applied.

For Cast material grade ASTM A890 Gr 5A, supplementary notes S2, S3 and S33 shall be

applied.

Material shall have 0.15% minimum Nitrogen content.

Material composition shall provide a minimum Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number

(PREN) of 41 as defined by the equation below.

PREN = %Cr + (3.3 x %Mo) + (16 x %N)

Ferric chloride pitting test in accordance with ASTM G48 Method A shall be applied. For

acceptance, weight loss shall not be less than 20mg with no visible pits after cleaning.

Weld repairs to castings shall be solution annealed and water quenched. Weld repairs

shall be made using consumables with a minimum PREN value of 41. Shielding and

backing gas shall be argon with a minimum purity of 99.99%. The heat input shall be

within the range of 0.5 – 1.5kJ/mm.

Micrographic examination is required (two samples per heat) and shall cover the mid-

thickness region. The ferrite content shall be determined according to ASTM E562 or

approved equivalent and shall be within 40 – 60%. The microstructure, as examined at

400X magnification on a suitably etched specimen, shall be free from inter-

metallicphases and precipitates.

Impact testing shall be carried out at minus 50°C in accordance with ASTM E23. Impact

tests shall be performed on test pieces from the same heat as the Duplex stainless steel

part and which have been simultaneously subjected to the same heat treatment.

Test results shall be at least 40 Joules (for standard specimen 10 x 10mm) as an average

of three tests. One result may be lower than 40 Joules, but shall have a minimum of 31

Joules. The required impact values for sub-size specimens shall be reduced as follows :

The test specimens of forged material shall be taken in the transverse direction at 1/4

and 1/2 of the thickness. Castings shall have one set of impact specimens taken from a

test block of the same melt and heat treatment batch.

Test samples for impact testing and micro structure, shall be carried out for each heat

and heat treatment batch. For forgings the test sample shall be taken from the ‘rough

forging’ or a prolongation representing the heaviest wall thickness. Castings shall have

integrally cast coupons or test blocks which shall be heat treated together with the

castings they represent.

4.3 Nickel alloys

ASTM B564 UNS N04400 nickel alloy forgings shall be supplied in the annealed condition.

ASTM A494 M35-1 nickel alloy castings shall be supplied in the as cast condition.

ASTM B564 UNS N06625 nickel alloy forgings shall be supplied in the annealed condition

and confirm to NACE MR0103.

ASTM A494 UNS N26625 (grade CW6MC) nickel alloy castings shall be heat treated per

the ASTM standard and confirm to NACE MR0103. Major weld repairs as defined in

section 11.2 of ASTM A494 are not permitted.

4.4 Alloy 20

ASTM B462 grade UNS N08020 material shall be supplied in the stabilized annealed

condition.

ASTM A351 CN7M material shall be heat treated and quenched per ASTM A351.

4.5 Hastelloy B2

Valve forgings shall comply with ASTM B462 UNS N10665 and be supplied in the solution

annealed condition.

Valve castings in ASTM A494 Gr N12MV shall be sourced from foundries experienced in

casting this alloy and heat treated in accordance with ASTM A494. Bidder shall name

the foundry proposed and provide references and reference list of previous supply of

valve castings.

4.6 Nickel Aluminium Bronze

Valve castings in ASTM B148 C95800 shall be sourced from foundries experienced in

casting this material and shall be heat treated in accordance with ASTM B148 Section

6.2.2. Bidder shall name the foundry proposed and provide references and reference

list of previous supply of valve castings.

5 NON DESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION OF VALVES

5.1 NDE Exceptions

Section 5 applies to all valves except:

Valves with bodies lined with PTFE/PFA, Polypropylene, rubber and fusion bonded epoxy

except linings shall be examined per section 5.3.

Valves with body material in bronze PVC and ductile iron.

NDE General Requirements

NDE shall be carried out in accordance with written procedures after all heat

treatment.

Visual examination shall be carried out on all visible internal and external surfaces of the

casting.

Magnetic particle and liquid penetrant examinations shall be carried out after final

machining and be applied to all accessible surfaces of the forgings and castings.

Valves casting shall be checked for compliance to the manufacturers and

specification minimum wall thickness requirements. 5% of each type, size and rating

batch shall be checked. If any casting is found to be out of specification, it shall be

rejected and all castings in the batch shall be checked.

These requirements apply to all parts of the pressure containing boundary, typically

valve bodies, bonnet and covers, valve stems are not considered part of the boundary

for NDE purposes.

NDE operators shall be qualified in accordance ASNT SNT TC-1A for the relevant

examination method.

Valves with PTFE/PFA, polypropylene, epoxy and rubber lining shall be subject to

Holiday or similar test of the lining on 10% (minimum qty 1) of each type, size and rating.

In the event of failure the valve shall be rejected and all valves in the batch shall be

tested. Bidder shall submit the test procedure for review and acceptance by AMEC

FWUK OU Engineering Department prior to testing.

5.3 NDE Quality level

Valves are divided into two quality levels based on class rating and size per Table 5A.

NDE for each Quality Level is specified in Table 5B.

NDE Procedure and Acceptance Criteria

All castings shall be visually examined in accordance with MSS-SP55, acceptance

criteria per ASME B16.34 Para 5.1.4

All forgings shall be visually examined, acceptance criteria – no cracks, laps or tears

Radiography - 100% of prototype castings and 100% examination of critical areas of

production castings, critical areas as defined in ASME B16.34. Procedure and

acceptance criteria per ASME B16.34 Appendix I. If quantity of any unique item

exceeds 5, examination may be reduced to 20% rounded up to the next whole

number. If any fail 100% of the batch shall be radiographed. Production castings shall

come from the same foundry that made the prototype.

Magnetic particle examination and Liquid penetrant examination shall be carried out

on all valves in all accessible surfaces per ASME B16.34 Appendix II & III respectively,

acceptance criteria per ASME B16.34. Liquid penetrant examination to be applied to

non magnetic materials.

Liquid penetrant examination shall be carried out on 10% of weld deposited overlays /

hard facings, procedure per ASME B16.34 Appendix III, acceptance criteria – no

defects allowed.

Ultrasonic examination shall be carried out on 100% of raw forgings per ASME B16.34

Appendix IV, acceptance criteria per ASME B16.34

6 MARKING

Valves shall be marked per Certification, Marking and Colour Coding of Bulk

Piping Materials 54C1 (ORPIC) and the following:

Each valve body and bonnet shall be legibly and permanently marked with the

Heat Number or heat traceability code. If marking is made by stamping then

low stress (round nose) dot stamps shall be used. Markings shall be legible after

valves have been painted.

All check, globe, uni-directional and valves with a preferred flow direction shall

have a flow direction arrow cast or forged into the body.

Soft seal valves shall be clearly marked by the manufacturer with the soft seal

material and the max working temperature.

Valve nameplates shall be fitted after painting.

7 TAGGING

All valves shall be tagged with stainless steel tags permanently attached to the

item. Tags attached by wire are not acceptable. Tags shall be embossed,

stamped or machine engraved with the Purchase Order number, Valve Tag

number (10 digit code as used on the valve data sheet) / SP item number and

the valve nominal size using the DN size designation (e.g. 4" NPS or DN 100). The

minimum size of characters shall be 5mm.

Tag labels shall be free of sharp edges.

8 QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTION AND TESTING

Valve manufactures and their sub suppliers of pressure retaining parts shall

operate a documented quality management system in accordance with ISO

9001 (2008) Bidder shall enclose a copy of their ISO 9001 certificate in the

technical bid and provide copies of audit reports, corrective action requests

and closeout reports on request.

Quality Assurance and Inspection shall be as specified in Attachment 2 of this

Standard and the surveillance grade on material requisition.

Valves are assigned a Material Surveillance Grades in accordance with Material

Surveillance Grade Standard 98A1 (ORPIC). The surveillance grade may be 1B,

2A, 2B or 3 depending on the body material and service conditions. The

applicable surveillance grade shall be confirmed on the material requisition.

When surveillance grade 1B is required the bidder shall arrange a pre-inspection

meeting with Orpic Inspection or Inspection Agency assigned by Orpic at the

place of manufacture. The meeting shall be held as soon as practical after the

bidders Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) which shall comply with ISO 10005 (2005)

has been reviewed by Orpic Engineering Department. The meeting shall be

conducted in accordance with Attachment 5 of this Standard. Minutes of the

meeting shall be appended to the revised ITP and re-submitted to Orpic

Engineering Department for review / approval.

The supplier’s inspection and test plan (ITP) shall include all activities involved in

the manufacture of the valve irrespective of the surveillance grade, activities

shall include but not be limited to casting, casting NDE, casting repair, post weld

heat treatment (PWHT), NDE of repairs, welding in of seats, PWHT, valve

assembly, API 598 testing, vacuum testing, helium shell and seat testing,

painting, colour coding, tagging, final inspection, review of production data

books etc as applicable to valves on the requisition. Activities that are sub

contracted shall be identified on the plan and shall include the name and

country of origin for all pressure retaining castings. The plan shall include a list of

valves being supplied against the order. The list shall include the Orpic requisition

number, requisition item number, valve tag number, size and quantity.

AMEC FWUK OU Engineering Department will add the inspection requirements in

line with the surveillance grade to the ITP when it is submitted for review,

inspections shall be carried out by Orpic inspection or Inspection Agency

assigned by Orpic. Bidder is responsible to liaise with Orpic or Inspection Agency

assigned by Orpic to ensure inspections are carried out. Orpic Engineering

Department reserve the right to revise the inspection surveillance as deemed

necessary.

9 POSITIVE MATERIALS IDENTIFICATION

Valves shall be subject to PMI in accordance with Positive Materials

Identification of Alloy Bulk Materials Standard 80A1 (ORPIC) including valves in

Hastelloy and Alloy 20 material except the scope of PMI shall be increased to

include the process wetted parts on a sample basis per 80A1 (ORPIC) Table 3

except PMI is not required on seat hard facings, spiral wound gaskets and soft

iron ring joint gaskets.

In addition to the requirements specified above, ductile iron, carbon steel and

impact tested carbon steel valves with 316SS, Bronze, Monel, Alloy 20 and

Hastelloy trim materials shall be subject to PMI of the alloy process wetted parts

on a Sample basis per 80A1 (ORPIC) Table 3 except PMI is not required on seat

hard facings, spiral wound gaskets and soft iron ring joint gaskets.

PMI reports shall form part of the valve certification and be included in the

Production Data Book.

PMI reports shall be fully traceable to the valves examined.

PMI is not required on 13% Cr or stellite type hard facings, however valve

manufacturers shall have procedures in place to ensure the correct trim

materials are fitted.

10 PRESSURE TESTING

All valves shall be pressure tested at the manufacturer's works in accordance

with the specifications on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC).

For carbon steel valves, water with a suitable corrosion inhibitor / wetting agent

shall be used.

Austenitic stainless steel valves shall be hydrotested using water containing less

than 50 ppm chloride ion. Manufacturer shall be able to demonstrate that the

water used for testing meets these requirements, alternatively valves may be

tested using potable water and immediately flushed with de-mineralised water.

Valves shall be drained and dried immediately after testing.

During Pressure tests hand wheel rim pull effort should not be greater than 350N

(that attainable by hand tightening without the use of any mechanical

advantage devices (eg cheaters, wheel keys etc). To avoid tester fatigue the

use of nominal hand wheel extenders is acceptable when valves are tested on

a production basis.

Gear operated valves shall be tested with the final gearbox fitted, where

applicable gearbox stops shall be adjusted and set ready for service.

Valve glands shall be adjusted during pressure testing and be left ready for

service.

11 PROTECTIVE COATING

Carbon Steel, Impact Tested Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel and Stainless Steel bulk

valves with a design temperature ≤ 565°C (as shown on Valve Datasheets -

51A1-ORPIC) shall be prepared and coated per Protective Paint and coatings

83A1 (ORPIC) unless specified otherwise.

The ends of socket weld and butt weld valves shall not be painted for a

distance of 15-20mm from the ends, unpainted area shall be taped over with

duct tape or similar to provide protection against corrosion and ingress of

foreign material until valves are installed.

The ends of valves fitted with pup pieces shall be left unpainted for a distance of

100mm from the bevel end, unpainted area shall be taped over with duct tape

or similar to provide protection against corrosion and ingress of foreign material

until valves are installed. Bevel ends shall be protected against damage during

shipping and storage.

Valves in Alloy 625, Monel, Hastelloy, Bronze material and valves specified with a

design temperature > 565°C shall not be painted, however carbon steel

components such as hand wheels, gearboxes and spindle extensions shall be

painted per 83A1 (ORPIC).

Valves shall be over coated as necessary in order to comply with any finish

colour required by National Regulations.

CERTIFICATION

Material certificates shall be supplied for all valves in accordance with

Certification, Marking and Colour Coding of Bulk Piping Materials Standard 54C1

(ORPIC). Material certification shall comply BS EN 10204, certification level shall

be as Table 6.

Pressure test certificates shall be supplied in accordance with the Testing

Standard specified on Valve Datasheets 51A1 (ORPIC), the certificate shall

detail the PO number, requisition and requisition item number, valve tag

number, tests carried out, pressure applied, test duration and test result,

certificates shall be signed by the responsible person and signed as witnessed

by Orpic Inspection Engineer or Representative of Inspection Agency assigned

by Orpic when tests have been witnessed.

Test certificates for vacuum, fugitive emission and helium seat leakage tests shall

be as stated above except the measured leakage for all tests shall be

recorded.

Fire test certificates shall be supplied for all valves specified to be of ‘Fire Tested

Design’.

Valves required for sour service shall be supported by a declaration of

conformity to NACE MR 0103 duly signed by a responsible officer of the valve

manufacturer. 3.1 material certificates shall include heat treatment details and

hardness values required by NACE and this standard.

Certificates shall include requirements, including Category, as identified in the

Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, where applicable.

13 COLOUR CODING

Valves shall be colour coded per Certification, Marking and Colour Coding of

Bulk Piping Materials Standard 54C1 (ORPIC).

PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT

Valves shall be clean and fully dried internally before preparation for packing.

Flange sealing faces and socket weld ends of Carbon Steel, LTCS and Cr Mo

alloy steel valves shall be coated with a proprietary solvent removable corrosion

preventative.

Valves shall be closed for shipment, except for ball and plug valves which shall

be shipped in the open position.

Gate, globe and butterfly valves with soft seats shall be packed in the cracked

open position to relieve pressure on the seats.

Valve end connections shall be protected against damage during transit and

storage, proprietary plastic plugs / flange protectors may be used up to size 10"

NPS (DN250), valves 12" NPS (DN300) and above shall have wooden flange

protectors securely bolted or wired in four points through the bolt holes. Wooden

flange protectors shall have gaskets to prevent the wood contacting the sealing

face.

Wafer type valves shall have wooden or other suitable rigid flange protectors

and gaskets where applicable, secured by suitable adhesive tape.

Ball valves shall be packed with levers fitted.

All gear operated valves shall be packed with the gear box fitted, gear box

hand wheels shall be removed and strapped to the valve, hand wheel fixing

screws, washers and keys shall be placed in polythene bags and taped to the

hand wheel.

Direct hand wheel operated valves should normally be packed with the hand

wheel fitted.

Painted valves shall be protected, and packaged to prevent movement and

minimise damage to the coating during transit to the job site. Unpainted

stainless steel valves for high temperature service shall be individually packed in

sealed polythene bags to prevent contamination.

Packing cases shall be export quality timber construction suitable for the size

and weight of the valves, cases and lid shall have a full waterproof lining. Valves

shall be packed to prevent movement during transit and minimise damage to

the protective coating (painting), valves for hydrogen service shall in addition

be sealed in polythene per section 3.26.6 of this Standard. One copy of the

packing list shall be placed inside each case and a second copy in a

waterproof envelope securely fixed to the outside of each case.

Packing and preservation shall also comply with project specifications as

applicable.

15 DOCUMENTATION FOR REVIEW

When an order is placed documentation shall be provided for review in

accordance with Attachment 1 of this Standard and Project Specification for

“General Notes for Requisitions”.

Valve drawings shall contain the following information, as applicable:

considered as relieving the bidder of any responsibility for detailed design,

dimensions, construction or deviation from specification.

Bidder shall not commence final assembly of valves until receipt of Orpic

Engineering Department review of drawings.

16 ASBESTOS

Bidder shall be aware that all asbestos and / asbestos containing materials are

strictly prohibited, without limitation, for any and all provision of Services,

equipment, plant, consumables, goods, permanent materials, shipping closures

and temporary packaging, temporary works, plant and machinery, or any other

provision, activity or act in connection with the Purchase Order.

Bidder shall prohibit the use of, and not to incorporate asbestos or any asbestos

containing product(s) in any product to be sold, used or installed by the Bidder

in connection with any Work to be undertaken in connection with this Purchase

Order.

Bidder shall not supply, install, remove or otherwise handle directly or by

subcontract, asbestos or any asbestos-containing product or products for the

purpose of any Work undertaken by the Bidder, whether permanent or

temporary in connection with the Purchase Order. In addition the transportation

to the site of any asbestos or asbestos containing products is strictly prohibited.

Exclusions or waivers from such prohibition shall be strictly forbidden.

Bidder shall confirm in writing as part of the tender clarifications that he has read

and agreed to comply, with strict adherence, to the prohibition and exclusion of

asbestos or asbestos containing materials throughout the execution of the Work,

whether permanent or temporary for the purposes of executing the Purchase

Order

54C1 ORPIC

This document covers requirements for certification, marking and colour coding of bulk

piping materials for Seawater Cooling System Improvement project in Sohar Refinery. It

supplements the requirements for such materials as specified in the requisition and shall

be complied with by the Suppliers of all bulk piping materials on this project.

Where apparent conflict of requirements occurs, or when interpretation of requirements is

needed, clarification shall be sought by the Supplier in writing and acceptance obtained

in writing from the Buyer before proceeding with manufacture.

2. MARKING METHODS AND MARKING MATERIALS

Required markings shall be applied by those methods permitted by the product

specification, and the following permitted methods:

By raised lettering

Stamping with round-nosed, low-stress stamps (conventional `V' stamps shall not be

used). Marks shall not be deep enough to form cracks or reduce wall thickness below the

minimum required.

Electro-etching or vibro-tool marking

Ink stamped marks shall be made in suitably prepared areas and such marks shall be

protected by clear varnish including any marking added as a specific project

requirement.

Any hard stamped or ink stamped markings are to be highlighted by encircling with a

white painted circle, except where such marks are continuous over the major portion of

the item.

Any paints, inks or varnish shall be durable and marks shall be capable of remaining

legible for at least four years from delivery subject to weather, marine atmosphere and

handling. Such marking materials shall not be injurious to the items being marked and in

particular, the marking ink used should be low-chloride or chloride free and shall contain

no metal or metal salts such as zinc, lead, copper or tin, which could be harmful on

welding or heating. Also it shall be sulphur free and not contain Halogens, Antimony,

Arsenic, Copper, Lead, Mercury, Sodium, Vanadium or Zinc in individual concentrations

greater than 0.3% by weight in the dry film.

3. SPECIFIC MARKING REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Pipe, Fittings, Flanges, Fig 8 Blinds, Spades & Spacers

Materials shall be marked and colour coded as required by the applicable product

specification and as listed in Table 1, each item or piece shall be individually marked with

the following:

cast or heat number which correlates the item to the applicable material

certificate(s).

Method of manufacture (e.g. cast, forged, welded, seamless etc).

Each item or piece shall also be individually marked with its appropriate requisition

number and requisition item number together with the number of any applicable

Material Substitution form issued with the Purchase Order. Where small size precludes such

individual markings, i.e., socket weld/screwed fittings and nipples DN 40 and smaller,

compression fittings, etc, each box/package containing the same items or pieces shall

have the appropriate requisition item number durably marked on it.

3.2 Bolting

In addition to the requirements of the material specification, the following requirements

shall apply:

Each box/package containing the same items or pieces shall have the appropriate

requisition number and requisition item number durably marked on it together with the

number of any applicable Material Substitution form issued with the Purchase Order.

3.3 Gaskets

In addition to the requirements of the material specification, all gaskets and jointing shall

be marked with the manufacturer's trade name / trade mark and the material grade.

Marking of Ring Joint, Spiral Wound and Jacketed gaskets shall incorporate ASME B16.20

requirements.

Each item or piece (when practicable) or each box/package containing the same items

or pieces, shall also have the appropriate requisition number and requisition item number

durably marked on it, together with the number of any applicable Material Substitution

form issued with the Purchase Order.

Colour coding of spiral wound gaskets shall be in accordance with Section 4 & Table 2 of

this document.

3.4 Valves and Strainers

Each complete item, each pressure part (e.g. body, bonnet, cover, welded flange or

welded nipple) and all body/bonnet/cover bolting shall be marked as required by the

applicable product specification. Trim material shall be stated.

Each pressure part shall be individually identifiable to its material certificate by marking

individual pressure parts with applicable cast or heat number

All valves, strainers and steam traps to be identified by tags attached. Tags shall be

permanently attached to the items. Tags attached by wire are not acceptable.

Each complete item shall also be marked where appropriate, with the number of any

applicable Material Substitution form issued with the Purchase Order.

Fire safe soft seated valves shall be marked with seat material, temperature limitations

and state Fire safe in addition to the requirements of Section 3.4.

Where applicable flow arrows shall be marked or cast into the valve body

4. COLOUR CODING

4.1 Colour Codes Required for Specific Materials

Every piece of material shall be marked with colours as indicated in Tables 1 and 2.

Where the Material Specification stated in the Requisition is not listed in Table 1, this shall

be referred to the Buyer.

Shades of the colours shall be in accordance with BS 381C-1996 as described in Table 3.

4.2 Form of Colour Coding Marks

Colour coding marks shall not obliterate any other marks required by sections 2 or 3

above and shall use paint materials in accordance with Section 2.

For pipe and butt welding fittings, unless otherwise specified in Table 1, colour codes shall

be applied as a continuous stripe along the complete length of each piece. Each stripe

shall be as wide as practicable, up to approximately 13mm wide for sizes DN50 and

below, 25mm wide sizes DN80 and larger.

For flanges, Fig. 8 blinds, spades and spacers the paint colour code shall fully encircle the

flange.

With the exception of valves, all other materials shall be marked at two separate

locations, (i.e. on opposite sides of the item). Each mark shall be a circular spot as large

as practicable up to approximately 25mm diameter.

For steam traps, gaskets (except spiral wound), O/D tubing and compression fittings, no

colour coding is required.

Valves should be colour coded as follows:

The paint used for marking shall be alkyd resin with organic pigments. It shall conform to

the requirements of Section 2.4 and shall not cause attack and/or cracking in the weld

5. CERTIFICATION

5.1 General Requirements for Certificates

Except as specified otherwise in Section 5.2 below, each piece or item of bulk piping

material shall be covered by a BS EN 10204 Type 3.1 certificate (or certificates) including

the following information:

The certificate number.

supplementary requirements called for in the Purchase Order shall be included.

item description(s) as appropriate: (e.g. item type, size, rating, schedule, pattern,

form, valve trim etc).

reports to the item(s). For valves comprising components having different material

certificates, each certificate shall also include the appropriate manufacturing batch

number (see Section 3.4).

The reports of all mechanical testing, chemical analysis, pressure testing, leak testing and

non destructive examinations applicable to each particular item as required by the

material specification and Purchase Order.

The Purchase Order number, requisition number and requisition item number of each

item covered by the certificate. It is acceptable for this information to be marked by

Supplier on a 'master' copy of the certificate but such 'masters' shall be authenticated by

Supplier with formal stamp, signature and date.

The requirements of this certification specified in this document are additional to the

requirement for a 'Certificate of Conformity' as specified in the appropriate material

standards referenced on the requisition.

PMI reports when specified shall also form part of the certification package.

“Type 3.2” Certification

Only when indicated in the Purchase Order are "Type 3.2" certificates required for specific

materials/items. In such cases the general requirement in Section 5.1 above applies

except that a BS EN 10204 Type 3.2 certificate should be supplied. This shall include the

endorsement of a Third Party, specified by Buyer, as the certificate issuing authority.

5.3 Specific Requirements for Certificates

5.3.1 Bolting

Letters of conformity, identified with the purchase Order number, requisition number and

requisition item number(s), are required for all bolting materials. Mill Test Certificates are

not required except when required by material requisition or material standard. For

Impact Tested bolts and nuts, impact test and hardness test in accordance with relevant

material standard or project technical specification shall be reported in the material

certificate.

5.3.2 Gaskets

Letters of Conformity, identified with the Purchase Order number, requisition number and

requisition item number(s), are required for all gasket materials.

5.3.3 Valves, Strainers and Steam Traps

Except where specified otherwise below, certificates as described in Section 5.1 above

are required for each pressure part (e.g. body, bonnet, cover, welded flange or welded

nipple) except that the item description shall include the applicable tag number.

For screwed bronze valves and strainers DN50 and smaller used only in water services, a

Letter of Conformity is acceptable in lieu of Certificates as required above. Such Letters

of Conformity to be identified with the Valve or Strainer Number as specified in the

requisition and with the Purchase Order number, requisition number and requisition item

number.

Separate 'Certification of Pressure Testing', shall be supplied in accordance with the

requirements for the supply of valves 51A2 (ORPIC) for all valves and with the

requirements for the supply of strainers 51A9 (ORPIC) – Technical Requirements for the

Supply of SP items.

Certification of fire testing shall be supplied for all valves of "Fire Tested" design in

accordance with project requirements.

Tubing (O/D Sizing) and Associated Fittings.

Letters of Conformity are required, as for Bolting (Section 5.3.1) above.

Distribution of Certificates (including letters of Conformity)

Those certificates required by Section 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 above shall be supplied in

The certificates shall be available at the time piping materials are ready for inspection.

5.5 Material Substitution Form

All sets of material and test certificates shall have attached to them a copy of any

applicable Material Substitution form issued by the Buyer as a Purchase Order

attachment relating to the goods.

5.6 Non Conformities and Concessions

When any non conformity or concession request has been agreed by the Buyer, a copy

of such approved agreement from the Buyer shall be included in all sets of applicable

certification.

All certificates and documentation shall be written in English and be clearly legible.
