A sequence of fine grained to very fine grained ig-rich tholeiitic basalt. In general the rock is lediu* to dark grey in colour with dull yellowish grey to putty coloured sections in areas of increased sericite alteration. Host of these sericitic sections are also very fine grained.The sequence is noniagnetic and is variably altered with chlorite, sericite and ankerite. The zone is weakly to oderately veined with up to 2SZ stringers of calcite - quartz very locally - average veining is 5 to JOX. Host veins are at D to 20 degrees to the core axis indicative of the veins noted in the trench just north of the hole. Several of the veins have sou leasure of sioky quartz i either as tiny brecciated fragments or as complete sugary textured veins.Veins and to a lesser the wallrocks are sparsely lineralized with i to 21 pyrite and rare chalcopyrite. The flat vein with visible gold noted on surface is not seen in the drillhole.The core is variably pitted and rusty due to weathering froi the collar to 9.66 i.The core is weakly to toderately brecciated throughout, brecciation being largely a function of veining and fracturing except around the lower contact of the systei froi 35.60 to 38.52 where the rock is clearly fractured and brecciated in addition to hosting soie irregular veining. The sequence is weakly to loderately brecciated also froi 20.0 i to 23.41 i. This brecciation being largely vein generated.

The section trot 23.41 to 35.60 i is a lediui grey tobrownish grey very fine grained basalt tilth dull ochreto straw coloured streaks of sericite alteration tostoften subparallel to irregular or highly contorted veinsof grey to sioky quartz and carbonate. This section isalso tore strongly ankeritic than previous.The core is weakly to uderately foliated at 25 to 35degrees to the core axis.The basal zone is a relatively Nell defined breccia withvariably bleached and altered fragments of basalt up to1 ci in size. Soie of the brecciation and fracturing isvein related and there are narrow sections of lassivebasalt in this area. The core continues to be streakedwith ochre - coloured sericite as Hell. Veins in thisbasal section are often broken and attenuated unlikesoie of the highly contorted to dragfolded veins seen in

the overlying lassive section. Traces of biotitealteration are also present in this area.The lower contact is irregular with veining.This overall zone appears to cover the trenched sequenceseen on surface. The two largest grey quartz veins areat 30.17 - 30.22 and 30,98 - 31.02 i both of which areat 55 to 60 degrees to the core axis and withoutaccessory sineralization.35.40 38.52 Brecciated.

38.52 154.23 MAFIC VOLCANICS

A sequence of fine grained to very fine grained lafic volcanics. The rock varies froi dull brownish grey to grey at the top of the zone and grades to dark green and iuch lore strongly chloritic circa 62 i. The change in colour also reflects a changing alteration froi sericite, chlorite and ankerite at the'start of the zone to chlorite and calcite with depth. The interval across which this change occurs is finely speckled with carbonate froi 44.6 to 61.4 i - the carbonate possibly representing finely altered feldspar. In general the rocks are sassive to very weakly foliated at 20 to 35 degrees to the core axis. The core is poorly veined with 5 to 102 lilky white to slightly greyish quartz and carbonate stringers and is very sparsely ineralized with pyrite */- pyrrhotite. 64.12 65.06 BRANITE. The lafic volcanics are cut by a

narrow granitic dyke to quartz feldspar porphyry at 20 degrees to the core axis. The dyke is reddish grey to orangish in colour with about 50Z pinkish to orangish

Calcite */- quartz veining is verycoulson in the systei Kith an average of 10 to 151 veinsin two sets - one at O to 25 degrees to the core axisand a second set at 35 to 45 degrees to the core axis.The shall ON set locally appears younger but therelationship between the two sets is often aibiguous.The rocks are loderate to strongly altered nith cbloriteand calcite, and are very sparsely to uniineralized.Circa 94.0 i the lafic volcanics begin to have a weaklyspotted nature with several sections of core havingnumerous l to 2 H sized chlorite blebs along a weaklydeveloped foliation at 20 to 35 degrees to the coreaxis. The chlorite spotting continues to 125.66 wherethere is a weakly developed contact at 20 degrees to thecore axis. This sequence lay represent an individualflow on alteration associated with a dyke of LAHPROPHYRE106.35 107.56 LAHPRDPHYRE, A dyke of lediui to coarse

grained LAMPROPHYRE, characterized by afic clots up to B H i n size in apervasively biotitic and calcitic tatrix.The dyke is brown in colour, loderate tostrongly aagnetic and is aoderatelyfractured with stringers of calcite up tol ci in size. The dyke is weakly chilledwith the adjacent aafic volcanics beingcooked, darkened and strongly chloritized.

Contacts are at 55 irregular l 35 degreesto the core axis. A siiilar, but very finegrained dyke occurs at 104.09 i, 16 M inwidth at 32 degrees to the core axis.

The volcanics in the area retain dark green, chloriticand calcitic with aore unifor* lassive flows again notedbelow the chlorite - spotted zone l after 125.66 i ).Very fine grained, tediui to dark green, chloritic,calcitic, noniagnetic unifon aafic volcanics with 10to 151 calcite - quartz veining continue to the end ofthe hole. Approching the end of the hole a weakfoliation is present at 30 to 40 degrees to the core axisThe I. P. Target of aoderate strength is not explained.That tay be due to the strong northerly dip here,although the I. P. Target is weak,

Moderately serialized, neatly chloritic, loderately carbonatized as ankeritic alteration Kith rare patchy calcitic alteration, very weakly silicified. There are trace, barren, l to 2 n wide, white carbonate veins subparallel to the foliation at SO to 55 degrees to the core axis. There are fen odd at to ci blue grey quartz calcite veins subparallel to foliation Kith 1Z pyrite as fine grained disseminations, There are trace to li very fine pyrite blebs disseminated. Foliation is Nell developed at 50 to 55 degrees to the core axis. Loner contact is fractured and contains ii nor gouge at 45 degrees to the core axis. 3,66 23.70 ! sericite - carbonate - schist is

intercalated with 2 to 3Z, l ci to 10 ci nide, silicified to cherty zones weakly brecciated and poorly lineralized. There is trace to l i rusty weathering along fractures subparallel to foliation or at 5 to 15 degrees to the core axis.
