After completing pledge education, bonding as a class, and raising $165 for the ASPCA, the Zeta class was initiated by the Olynthius Chapter on November 19, 2016. The class included 18 brothers, including honorary brother Roberta Buckberg. They’ve already begun making their mark on the chapter, and we can’t wait to see what these amazing brothers do next!

Pledge Class President: Brian Houstle

Pledge Class Secretary: Taylor Eyo

Events: Past and Future

FACULTY DINNER AUCTION3/23/16Students bid on dinner events with professors, providing a fun opportunity for faculty and students to get to know each other outside of a traditional classroom setting.

PB&J SANDWICH MAKING3/28/16Students from different groups come together to make and package PB&J sandwiches. In 2016, the 952 sandwiches made were donated to Martha’s Table, an organization based in Washington, D.C.

ARCHITECTURE FORMAL4/16/16Formal is an event open to all students within the School of Archtiecture and friends. We hosted formal at the UMUC Marriott in College Park, MD. It was a night of dancing and desserts, complete with lots of brotherhood bonding!

FIELD DAY4/10/16Field day is a philanthropic event where students create their own teams and compete in a series of outdoor events. All proceeds were donated to Open Architecture Collaborative.

GRAD SCHOOL INFO SESSION10/10/16Each fall, our Faculty Advisor, Michael Ambrose, hosts a question and answer session for students interested in attending graduate school, either at the University of Maryland or elsewhere.

SPOOKY COOKIE BAKING10/26/16One of our favorite fall philanthropy events is making spooky halloween-themed cookies to sell as a fundraiser. This year, we raised over $90 for UNICEF, and had a great day selling cookies outside of McKeldin Library.

PB&J MAKING VOL. 22/27/17The second year of pb&j making was even more successful than the fi rst! This year, we made 1069 sandwiches total, donating 500+ to both NourishNow in Rockville, MD and Shepherd’s Table in Silver Spring, MD.

FALLINGWATER TRIP3/4/17On March 4th, a few Olynthians took advantage of our proximity to Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous projects, by going and exploring for the day!
