Coffee with the Pastors is a relaxed and informative gathering where you can ask

questions about the Christian faith, Methodism, and what it means to be a

member of our church. You'll learn more about the church, get to know our pastors,

and review expectations regarding membership. Our time together typically

lasts an hour. Childcare available upon request. Call the church office at 654-2389 to

sign up. Our next meeting is Sept. 17 at 4:00. We will meet in the church office.

Dear ZUMC,Thank you so much for choosing me for the church scholarship. I will use this money to further my education and pay for the many things a college student needs. As I begin to complete my courses at Louisiana State University, I will continue to go to the Zachary United Methodist Church and also attend some services at the Wesley Foundation on LSU campus. Lauren Beckmann has been hired as our new Director of Children' Ministries! Lauren is married to Jon Beckmann and they have two daughters, Madeline and Henley Anne. She was born and raised in Clinton, MS and went to the University of Southern Mississippi for college and graduate school. While living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she was a wife, mom and a preschool teacher. She moved to Zachary two years ago and found her church home here at ZUMC. Last year, she took a job as one of our preschool teachers at The Little School. She has been actively involved in church ministry over the years and we are delighted to have her serving here now. Please give a big welcome to Lauren and offer your support for this vital ministry of our church!

Kids Hope Training Day Sun., Sept. 17

Friends and Needles members wish to thank everyone who has generously donated material, a sewing

machine, and other related items to help further our ministry to help those in need.

Anyone interested in learning or sharing knowledge to sew, knit, crochet, make a craft, or help in many

way, are invited to join the group. They meet Thursdays, except the first week, at 1 pm in the

Children's building.

ARCHIVESThe purpose of the church Archives is to both preserve our historical records, photographs, scrapbooks and more, and it is equally important to share those precious items with its members. There are also books, planning guides, and helpful brochures related to various areas of the church. Please visit the Archives to see what is there that might help you.The Archives are now open the first Wednesday of every month, or by appointment. You are also welcome to access Ancestory.com and get help developing and share your family history.

thOn Sunday, August 27 , a large limb fell on the roof of one of the church rent houses on Young Street just after the Pathway service had ended.

Within two hours the limb had been removed from the roof, cut and stacked at the street and the roof tarped to protect the interior of the house. A big

The Youth praise band, Pineapple Sunday will have a bake sale on Sun., Sept. 10th during the Sunday School hour. The funds raised will help purchase some needed equipment and expenses. Drop by the fellowship hall and pick out some goodies. Thank you for your support.
