Drug Rehabilitation:o where people go, or what people participate in when trying to get off of a drug.o The process of rehabilitation involves physiological and medical issues.o Most addicts have a psychiatrist to help with withdrawal.
Rehabilitation Centers:o The patients in rehabilitation centers are taught how to live a drug-free life. o Most centers require their patients to socialize with the other people for support, and to keep their minds away from drugs.o They are encouraged not to keep in contact with people who still use the substances.
Types of Rehabilitation: o Out-patient o Support groupso Care centers (Rehab center)o Sober House

must be followed to become clean:oDetoxo Counseling o Aftercare
o Detox:oThe process of cleansing the body of all the toxins related to the drug
oWithdrawal- The painful symptoms that occur when someone abruptly stops using a drug.
oWhile this isn't usually harmful to the body, it can be very painful and stressful due to withdrawal symptoms.
oCan take between several days to a couple months

oThe person should stay under medical care during detox so they don’t relapse
oThe first and most important step in rehabilitation

oPurpose: find the cause of the drug addiction and establish solutions.
