History of Physical Therapy• The profession of Physical therapy began in 1914 during WW
1 as a result of the injured soldiers needing to learn to re function after being hurt in battle. The first physical therapists graduated from Reed College and were known as reconstruction aides.
• 1921 the American Women Physical Therapeutic Association formed and then during WW 2 changed its name to American Physiotherapy Association.
