ECE R129 will launch in 3 phases:

Overview:

Phase 1

Child seats with an integral restraint (like a 5 point harness) for children up to 105cm

Phase 2

Booster seats for children 100 – 135cm

(Specific vehicle 135 – 150cm)

Phase 3

Child seats with an integral restraint (like a 5 point harness) and fitted with the car’ seat

belt

Both regulation will run in parallel indefinitely with the following requirements:

As amendments occur they take some of the potential seats out of R44.

New developments can then only be started/homologated in R129.
