The Mancini DreamTeam is the teen performing ambassadors to the surrounding community. Made up of the motivated, talented students of the Academy and Charter school between the ages of 12-16 this high energy Broadway and Glee style troupe tour to various activities throughout the year. Those students of both the Charter school and the academy that live to perform should audition.

Auditions for Mancini Academy Students and Charter School Students: Saturday September 17, 2016 and Monday September 19, 2016.

Rehearsals are Mondays from 4:00PM - 4:45PM starting September 26, 2016.

Acting 1Mon. 6:30PM - 7:30PM, Sat. 10:30AM - 11:30AM Actors in this class learn the basic terminology, techniques and expectations of stage actors through interactive theatre games, partner work and ensemble activities. A required class for beginners and a fun refresher for experienced actors. $185 per semester

Acting II Mon. 6:30PM - 7:30PM, Sat. 10:30AM - 11:30AM Throughout this course students will play theatre games, learn proper acting technique, projection, character development, vocal exercises, and stage movement. Students will prepare monologues and scenes to present throughout the year. $185 per semester

Ballet I - BeginnerMon. 5:30PM - 6:30PM, Sat. 9:30AM - 10:30AM A beginner level class, Ballet I focuses on foundation elements, proper technique and structure. It incorporates barre work, centre work, basic combinations, and is appropriate for students who have taken less than two years of ballet. $185 per semester

Ballet II - Intermediate to AdvancedMon. 5:30PM - 6:30PM, Sat. 9:30AM - 10:30AM In this class, students continue to build on their foundation technique while increasing their flexibility, building strength, and developing a repertoire of more complex footwork combinations. The students will begin across the floor exercises and lean the basics of jumps and turns. $185 per semester

Hip-HopMon. 7:30PM - 8:30PM, Sat. 9:30AM - 10:30AM A super fun hip-hop class designed to help students increase their musicality and showmanship while jamming to today’s hits. $185 per semester

Jazz IMon. 5:30PM - 6:30PM, Sat. 9:30AM - 10:30AM Jazz I introduces the principles of proper jazz technique. Students will focus on placement and specificity of movement, and will strive toward improved flexibility and strength. $185 per semester

Jazz IIMon. 5:30PM - 6:30PM, Sat. 9:30AM - 10:30AM Jazz II reinforces the principles of proper jazz technique. Students will focus on placement and specificity of movement, and will strive toward improved flexibility and strength while learning more complex combinations. $185 per semester

Musical Theatre WorkshopMon. 7:30PM - 8:30PM, Sat. 12:45PM - 2:30PM Students will experience all of the elements necessary to create a musical theatre performance. They will work with scripts; do scene work with partners; and as an ensemble, dance, sing, and perform together. There will be a culminating workshop perfomance on the final class day in the Lincoln Park MainStage. Mon. $185 per semester, Sat. $225 per semester

TapMon. 4:45PM - 5:30PM, Sat. 2:30PM - 3:15PM Tap is not just about the shoes! Students will work on balance, coordination of the arms and legs, and musicality as well as the basic tap steps including single, double, and triple time steps. $160 per semester

VoiceMon. 4:45PM - 5:30PM, Sat. 11:30AM - 12:15PM Students will learn technique exercises leading to a warm-up routine. Exercise to extend their ability, range, and expression will also be included. $160 per semester

The dancers will develop grace and poise while learning proper terminology and technique. This class is designed to prepare students with little or no dance experience for the Teen Level classes. Ballet IIMon. 6:30PM - 7:30PM, Sat. 10:30AM - 12:00PM Ballet II builds upon the basic skills of classical Ballet expanding the dancers’ vocabulary, introducing more advanced steps, and defining proper positions helping the dancer to grow and master technique and showmanship. The ensemble will play a wide variety of material within the jazz idiom, including classic big band, Latin, and contemporary selections. Rehearsals will include instruction in sight-reading, section playing, and improvisation while preparing for a live performance. $50 Annual Dues (waived for LPPACS students)

AGE 18+Adult Tap

Mon. 7:30PM - 8:30PM For adult learners who have had significant previous tap training, Adult Tap brings dancers together to build upon previously learned steps while perfecting technique, improving musicality, and developing co-ordination of limbs. $99 per semester

Community Jazz EnsembleTues. 6:00PM - 7:30PM Jazz Ensemble is designed to provide an opportunity for those interested in playing and performing live music. The ensemble will play a wide variety of material within the jazz idiom, including classic big band, Latin and contemporary selections.
