for Steel Water Pipe
Friday, November 21, 10 am-12 pm CentralThis webinar presents important design formulas and safety factors usedby design engineers of large-diameter steel water pipelines, and thestandards in which the formulas are published. The session includes areview of significant digits and their corresponding effects on safetyfactors for steel pipes. Precise steel pipe design safety factors have been well-established fordecades. Historical performance review indicates the use of such safetyfactors in industry-standard pipe design can eliminate the potential forcatastrophic failure.
Pipe materials other than steel are relatively new in the history of waterpipe transmission, and a brief comparison of safety factors of these otherpipe materials versus steel pipe is included in the webinar.
