Osaka city Bio-related pharmaceutical companies and food manufacturers as well as the chemical and medical equipment companies that support them accumulate in all regions of Osaka City. Ibaraki A total of 29 research institutes are gathered in Tsukuba. Collaborative R&D of industry-academia-government collaboration and cutting edge science and technology in Tsukuba, Ibaraki. Support for the establishment of Asian production bases of foreign-affiliated companies with advanced technologies Gifu The Gifu region of Gifu Prefecture has a cluster of pharmaceutical and medical equipment-related companies such as Eisai. Shizuoka With the aim of achieving the best health and longevity in the world, Shizuoka is pushing ahead with world-class R&D from medical care to the wellness industry. Shizuoka city Food, pharmaceutical products, and chemical processing industries accumulate. Research related to food science business is thriving.
