Development Planning Development Planning Development Planning Development Planning –––– 2019 and beyond2019 and beyond2019 and beyond2019 and beyond
We are currently planning our development for 2019 and beyond to ensure sustained gas supply to domestic and LNG customers.
This development will involve infill development in our northern, central and southern areas.
June, 2018
The infill wells will supply QGC’s existing gas processing plants, and follow on from the current Project Ruby development.
There are no plans for QGC to install major gas compression or processing to support the new wells.
We are currently engaging the Australian and Queensland governments regarding approvals in the northern area.
You can expect to see applications lodged around Q3 this year. We will keep you updated on our progress.

We are currently undertaking design work for our next gas field development
If approval is successful, this project will be called ‘Goog-a-binge’, meaning Scrub Turkey in Iman language.
This development is taking place within Iman traditional country
In recognition of this, the Iman elders have provided the name ‘Goog-a-binge’
We support Traditional Owners in promoting their language and culture for the benefit of current and future generations.

QGC’s longQGC’s longQGC’s longQGC’s long----term brine management strategy term brine management strategy term brine management strategy term brine management strategy
On balance, when all safety, environmental, community and business factors are considered,
crystallising brine into solid salt form and encapsulating it for long-term storage in purpose built
cells is considered the most feasible and optimum solution at this stage
As a direct result of declining brine/salt profiles, emerging crystallization technology and
renewed industry collaboration discussions, QGC has also endorsed a strategy to defer the
construction of a crystallisation facility and associated salt encapsulation facility until after 2020
June, 2018 20
QGC has investigated a number of options to manage brine
Concentrated brine is safely being stored in dedicated brine ponds adjacent to the water treatment plants
Existing concentrated brine pond meets storage requirements until approx. 2022

Solar Energy ProjectSolar Energy ProjectSolar Energy ProjectSolar Energy Project
Shell continues to investigate the option of a new solar energy project on QGCs
existing land in the Wandoan area, as part of a plan to deliver renewable
energy sources.
Shell is assessing viability, no final investment decision has been made.
 You may see staff visiting
the site, from Shell and
other companies - so we
can gather information to
feed into project planning.

The community with visibility of our work packages and those of our major contractors
A platform for our procurement staff to test the market (pricing, capability etc.)
Procurement staff visibility of local and Indigenous businesses
A mechanism for QGC and major contractors to provide specific feedback to unsuccessful vendors
