Term 1 Week 7 Thursday 14/03/19
BLAST—Our BLAST program is in full effect. Unfortunately today Ms P is unwell so we will reschedule and extra BLAST day when she is back on deck again. There may be some rear-rangement of weekly plans to accommodate this. The kids are loving the program and the work Jenny has done with the students and the bins is fantastic. They look great! Thanks to Dave for doing such a great job preparing the bins for us. Wellbeing- Tuesday’s on a regular two week cycle we will continue to have Chris Hutton support our school. The stu-dents are really enjoying having Chris contribute to our play and classroom. Trading COLOURSS—Next Tuesday the 19th March, all stu-dents should come to school as normal where Michelle and Wendy will be transporting them to Rukenvale School for a Trading COLOURSS day with Rukenvale students. I will be attending a K-2 Network training day at Wiangaree PS along with other COLOURSS teachers. Michelle and Wendy along with teaching staff from Rukenvale have planned lessons and will supervise and support our students. A great opportunity to network and support with another small school, cementing friendship and have an educational day out. It will also give our Juniors an orientation of Rukenvale while there are only a few students on site in preparation for our COLOURSS Writing workshops in week 10 when lots of student will be there. Michelle and Wendy will return with students in their private cars delivering them back to school by normal pickup time of 2:45pm. Reminder—this day is also our COLOURSS Social
date. See flyer for details. Regards Ryan Swift
Principal’s Desk We are still in celebration mode—what an achievement by our relay team last week- placing 2nd at regional and making state! I believe this is the first time Afterlee Public School has as done this which is a testament to the efforts of parents and the school to support swimming programs. I also want to acknowledge Erin who finished 10th in her butterfly event!! A great personal achieve-ment - she is the 10th best butterfly swimmer in her age group from Port Macquarie to Tweed Heads! Classroom —On Wednesday the students not at regional swimming were very helpful with cleaning out the class-room. I tried to tidying while being respectful to the schools history - I also collected and put aside a lot of re-sources for the centenary celebrations. This is a necessary clean out as we are expecting new carpet to be laid sometime soon and all cardboards need to be emptied for furniture to be manoeuvred. It does look great—call in and take a look. Mrs Wheeler will be super excited!

Today in Maths
Today we made a meter cube out of blocks and meter
ruler.
To find the capacity of the whole classroom we had to
times the width depth (8m) and length (7.5m) and height
(2.5m) which equalled 150, we had lots of fun, and we
figured out that we could fit 150 meter cubes in our
room.
