If your answer is simply yes or no, take the time to explain why. 1. What is your favorite destination to go to in order to relax? 2. What do you need to do to prepare for this activity? 3. What are some activities that people like to do to have fun in your area? 4. Is there a place you haven’t been to yet but you would really like to see one day? 5. Hiking is a very popular activity in North America, people really enjoy walking through nature trails. Why do you like this type of activity or why do you prefer life in the city? 6. Describe a situation where you had to find a location by listening to the directions from people you seen on the way. 7. Did the people give you good directions or did you get lost? What was the journey like? Recommended Guide for this Speaking Exercise 1. Record yourself speaking with a cell phone voice recorder app or a recording application on your computer. 2. Listen to the questions only and try to respond. This will help with listening comprehension. 3. Write down words or phrases you cannot remember or do not know how to say as you are speaking. You can learn them after the exercises. 4. Answer the questions again. You will improve your fluidity with the answers the more you practice them. Practice the answers until you are comfortable speaking them and have a better flow. 5. Read the questions only if you cannot answer the question because you do not understand something.
