Redevco signs up top food Anchor Monoprix for its project in Bordeaux: PROMENADE SAINTE- CATHERINE “
On 27 March, Redevco France signed a 12-year lease with the food chain Monoprix for approx.1,200 sq. m. location at the heart of the open-air "Promenade Sainte-Catherine" commercial development. This mixed development will include 19,000 sq. m. of commercial space as well as 9,000 sq. m. of residential properties in the historic centre of Bordeaux.Completion of the project is planned for April 2015.
The signing of the lease with the food driver for the scheme sets the seal on plans for a MONOP’ store, a hyper-local urban concept that will also include a catering facility opening onto a pavement terrace facing the planned square in the "Promenade Sainte-Catherine" project. The "Promenade Sainte-Catherine" is located at the junction of rue Sainte-Catherine and rue Porte Dijeaux. It is part of a major urban regeneration scheme covering 30,000 sq. m. that aims to reinvigorate the heart of the city.
"We are very happy to see a chain as dynamic and innovative as Monoprix acting as the food driver for the Promenade Sainte-Catherine and to provide a complementary commercial facility for the city centre, helping the people of Bordeaux in their everyday lives", says Thierry Cahierre, Country Manager Redevco France To improve energy efficiency and to promote green design, Promenade Sainte-Catherine, designed by Valode & Pistre Architects, is being developed to BREEAM standards. Redevco is aiming to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very good’ certificate. Redevco France was advised by RCG (Retail Consulting Group) on the commercial side of the venture.
