When Patrick Henry was not healthy enough to practice law in an actual court, he retired to his home at Red Hill.

He had his own private law office where anyone who wanted advice could reach him.

The law office provided a quiet place for Henry to work within very short distance from the main house, and could also serve as guest quarters when needed.
