Counter offers had hardly been utilised at all prior to therecession, in fact in most cases people would be asked toleave with immediate effect and put on garden leave.

With the demand for good recruiters so high, companies areoffering at times up to 40% increases in basic salaries in anattempt to try and retain recruiters even with as little as 6months experience! This could have a knock on effect tothose recruiting as salary expectations are inflated abovenormal rates and the cost of hiring could dramaticallyimpact companies in 2011.
