Being a successful Recovery Coach Trainer is very rewarding and also requires a great deal of time, energy, and commitment. Before applying to become a trainer, we want to make sure you fully understand the Recovery Coach Training program and what will be required from you as a trainer. The first phase is the standard 30-hour (4 day) Recovery Coach Academy (RCA). Once this is completed, each participant will be a certified Recovery Coach. 2. Before applying to become a trainer, we want to make sure you fully understand the Recovery Coach Training program and what will be required from you as a trainer. RECOVERY COACH TRAINING OVERVIEW

RECOVERY COACH ACADEMY (RCA)

The Recovery Coach Academy is a 30-hour intensive training academy focused on providing individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into or sustain long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. Provided in a retreat-like environment, the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© prepares participants by helping them to actively listen, ask really good questions, and discover and manage their own stuff.

Recovery Coach Academy participants will:

Describe Recovery Coach role and functions

List the components, core values and guiding principles of recovery

Build skills to enhance relationships

Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching

Discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing your story

Understand the stages of recovery

Describe the stages of change and their applications

Increase their awareness of culture, power and privilege

Address ethical and boundaries issues

Experience recovery wellness planning

Practice newly acquired skills

TRAINING OF TRAINERS (TOT)

During the 2-day recovery coach training of trainers, trainer candidates will learn how to deliver all elements of the curriculum, as well as how to successfully execute the logistics of the program.

When an individual becomes a Recovery Coach trainer, they commit to teach the full 30-hour RCA course adhering to the program curriculum and its objectives. Trainers are responsible for most aspects of their trainings, including:

Finding and booking the venue

Promoting the trainings

Registering training participants

Providing course materials

Sharing local resources

Sending participant evaluations to the North Central Accountable Community of Health

Each trainer will be required to provide a minimum of one training in the first year after becoming a certified trainer (up to 3 trainers may participate in delivering the same training.)
