Reality TV got its start in 1948 Allen Funt’s show Candid Camera, which was first a radio show entitle “Candid Microphone” .

Both shows broadcasted everyday people reacting to various pranks.

Reality TV has risen to a major broadcasting brand. Its has risen from having few reality TV shows in the 80’s like “COPS” and increasing more in the 90’s with MTV’s “The Real World” and one of the first youth reality TV shows, Disney’s “Bug Juice”

Reality TV has easily become the the norm in today’s entertainment. Wither onscreen or online, Reality life is being documented continuously with new concepts and over night celebrities everyday now and the brand that it has become shows no sign the it will stop growing in the future.
