Sample Question: What is Robert Lindsay’s impression of holidays at Centre Parcs? 10 marks

Page 7: Reading Session 3 Impressions and Viewpoint questions

How to set out an answer.

Lindsay says, ‘There are no stresses, just the welcome strain of working your way through a huge range of adult and child-friendly activities.’ This suggests he enjoyed the stress-free nature of the holiday where all he had to worry about was ‘working your way through’ all the activities. The words ‘welcome strain’ show that although it was a challenge doing all the activities he enjoyed it. The words ‘huge range’ suggest he was impressed by how many things there were to do for both adults and children.

Evidence first. You don’t have time to waffle – get straight to the point!
