Re Regina Mundi Council #4052 Assumption B.V.M. Parish - Feasterville, PA
MARCH 2019 ============================================================================================================
GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE:
My Brother Knights,
Once again, we have a busy couple of months ahead. Several of our council’s biggest events are coming up soon, and we need to be prepared. But we can’t allow our busy schedules to run our lives to the point where we forget what we are really called to prepare for. As we enter the season of Lent, and prepare for Easter Sunday, let’s try to find time to really consider the extent of what God has sacrificed for us; the life of his only son, Jesus. If we can begin to appreciate the magnitude of Christ’s passion and death, then we will truly be able to rejoice at his resurrection on Easter morning! I hope you have a fruitful Lent! Vivat Jesus! Brother Rich

CHAPLAIN’S MESSAGE:
My Brother Knights: I am thankful to you my brother Knights of the Regina Mundi Council for all that you do. I am
especially grateful for your being present to the Assumption BVM Parish family. I am certain
that Father McGivney’s vision of the positive influence exerted by Knights is clearly seen by
you.
Your participation in the monthly Family Rosary, and your leading the Prayer for Families
strengthen our parish families, each of whom is the domestic Church. Your establishing the
“Novena for Life” and witness to the beauty of all life by attending the March for Life reinforce
the truth of what is a constitutional right, and, according to St. John Paul II, the most basic
right upon which all other rights are based.
While family life can be replete with challenges at times, your fidelity to the mission of the
Knights of Columbus is a clear witness to the beauty of each domestic Church. Stay the
course, brothers.
Vivat Jesus!
Father Mike Davis

Missing Knights
Brother Knights If you haven’t been to a meeting or participated in one of our activities in a while, why not start the new Fraternal; year off by coming to a meeting. Come, meet the new members, or renew friendships with older members. We are in the process of making changes to our hall. You can see what we are changing and hear what we are planning or, you can help us plan for the new year. The meetings are the first Thursday of the month and the social meetings are the third Thursday of the month. Both are at 7:30 PM
You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

THE MCGIVNEY PRAYER: God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest,
Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian Family life and to lead the young to the generous
service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ,
more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the
inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue His work
of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Father
Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the
favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen

During the Supreme Convention last August in Baltimore, the Knights of Columbus launched its 18th Marian Prayer Program—this year featuring an icon of “Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians,” created by Italian artist Fabrizio Diomedi. The icon was recently blessed by Pope Francis himself.
Each state deputy will host an icon and share it with local councils throughout their jurisdictions. The icon will serve as the centerpiece for prayer services intended to raise awareness of the plight of Christians persecuted for their faith and to stand in prayerful solidarity with them.
As the icons travel on their individual journeys, we encourage Knights to track their experiences by posting photos to Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #FollowingMary. The Supreme Council will share many of these photos on its own social media accounts in an effort to unite Christians around the world in prayer.
The prayer program is the latest in a series of efforts undertaken by the Knights of Columbus to aid those who suffer for their faith. Since its inception in 2014 the Christian Refugee Relief Fund has raised and distributed close to $20 million to help feed and clothe needy families in the Middle East and to resettle and rebuild villages destroyed by ISIS.
Regina Mundi’s turn will be later in the spring. Page 12
