Two Years of Collaborative 2015-16 Council Effort
Objective and Approach• Extending and expanding Lionism throughout Texas• Take wishes/ideas; make them happen by creating a detailed
plan to put them into action• Roll out the plan; monitor adoption and progress • Get back to the basics of membership:
– recruitment– rebuilding – retention
• Introduce tangible, physical assets to work with• Focus on enhanced visibility of Lions at work in Service• Bring new attention to Lions w/ state-wide partnership in a
common cause• Retain leeway for individual DGs’ subsequent action plans
Theme Evolution/Significance• Looked for words or catch phase that resonates w/
Texans, e.g. “Remember the ….”• Root word of “membership” is “member”• The word “member” can be used as an action word,
i.e. to populate• Re-member is the opposite of “dismember” (reduce)• Hence, “reMEMBER Texas” is a catch phase w/
double meaning– Carries a connotation of a battle cry for action– Rolls once “membered” have to be “reMEMBERed”
