Context: What is the RIP?
• Sets out the principles, priorities & delivery arrangements for delivering the RDPE in the East Midlands
• Consulted widely during 2006 & 2007
• Agreed by partners and Defra in late 2007

Why are we reviewing the RIP?
• Two years’ delivery experience• Policy & economic changes • New funding introduced (EERP)
• Not a complete re-write; overall structure, delivery strands and approaches agreed in original RIP to remain.

What can and can’t be changed at regional level?
• Strand 1:– balance of funding between measures determined at national level. Some regional flexibility in targeting
• Strand 2: some changes to balance between measures within overall axis limitation
• Strand 3: some changes between measures to reflect agreed contracted values of the 7 LEADER groups
• Strand 4: additional resource to reflect new EERP funding and experience to date
