game jackpot ever in the Caribbean - 50 fuh 50 - 18 games.

Event Date: Monday, December 12, 2016 - 19:30

4 Jackpots of $50,000.00 in 45 calls; otherwise 5 Jackpots of

$2,000.00 each—Tickets are Bds $50 inclusive of one free bingo

card. If the main Jackpot is not won, then a minimum of $13,400

in other cash prizes can be

funeral for Rtn. Dr. John Mayers

will be held on Saturday ,

December 10 at 9:30 am at Beth-

el Methodist Church.

The mee4ng on December 1, 2016, was as usual one

of fellowship. However given the season and our

upcoming Charity events, namely Carols by Candle-

light and Senior Ci4zens func4on, the following re-

minders were given. Please note the date change

for the Senior Ci4zens func4on which will now be

December 18, 2016.

walk to Ilaro Court. • Obtain your health cer6ficates if you are working

with food or drinks • We will need your able-bodied support on Sunday

Morning at 9am (tables, chairs, drinks etc) • Call 6me for Rotarians is 2pm on Sunday aKer-

noon so we can be ready for the first patrons. • Bring your head wear and remember no sleeve-

MEET OUR GREETERS:

Last week PP Steve Brathwaite and Robin “the

Baron” Forde greeted us. So today our greeters

are:

PP GRENVILLE PHILLIPS Dr.

Grenville W. Phillips, CBE, joined

the Club on May 01, 1976 and his

Classifica6on is Business Services—

Consultancy. He served as President

for the year 1986-87, which was the

25th Anniversary of Rotary in Barba-

dos. It is said that he reported to the

Club that “due to a lack of funds

there will be no designated Presiden6al Project;” however

the Club recognized twenty-five (25) persons who made a

difference to the Community (recognizing Voca�ons). Also

during this 6me the first pace-maker was donated to the

Queen Elizabeth Hospital; a program which s6ll con6nues

through Heartbeat Interna6onal. PP Grenville has served the

Club as secretary 1977-1979 and the District as Assistant

Governor 2010-2012.He was awarded the Paul Harris Fel-

lowship in 2006.

RTN. TREVOR G FIELD can

be credited together with PP Stanley

MacDonald, with the introduction of Car-

ols by Candlelight to Barbados in 1995.

Prior to joining our Club on February 01,

1991 he served for eleven years in the

Rotary Club of Port of Spain. His Classifi-

ca6on is General Merchandise – Distribu6on. Rtn. Trevor

Field has served on many commi�ees including Community

Service where he was instrumental in the construc6on of

the Boview Home at the Adult Crea6ve Arts and Training

Centre “Challenor School”, St. Thomas, Fellowship &

A�endance Commi�ees , Challenged and Senior Ci6zens ,

Fund Raising Commi�ee and Children’s Homes and Drug

Awareness where he serves at this 6me.

count of their contribu6ons to The Rotary Founda6on (TRF)

and the work it does. PDG David Edwards – District 7030

TRF Fundraising Chair – has produced some inspiring and

relevant informa6on on contribu6ng towards TRF, [some of

which are set out below] :

SHARE AND DISTRICT DESIGNATED FUND

Through the SHARE system, contribu6ons to The Rotary

Founda6on are transformed into grants that fund local and

interna6onal humanitarian projects, scholarships, and ac6v-

i6es, such as voca6onal training teams. At the end of every

Rotary year, contribu6ons directed to the Annual Fund-

SHARE from all Rotary clubs in the district are divided be-

tween the World Fund and the District Designated Fund

(DDF).

EVERY ROTARIAN EVERY YEAR

The Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) ini6a6ve asks every

Rotarian to support The Rotary Founda6on every year. In

addi6on to contribu6ng to the Annual Fund on a regular

basis, members are encouraged to get involved in a Foun-

da6on project or program.
