After launching their first South Florida restaurant together in 1980, Burt Rapoport and Dennis Max have reconnected once again for the opening of Burt & Max’s Bar and Grille on February 16, in Delray Marketplace, the new 275,000-square-foot lifestyle and entertainment center at 9089 West Atlantic Ave. Burt & Max’s is off to a tremendous start so be sure make your reservations in advance. Burt & Max’s is open for dinner daily, serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Happy Hour is available at the bar Monday through Friday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with half price cocktails and a $5 bar bite menu. Be sure to join us for Wednesday Cigar night on the back patio and Thursday Ladies night for live entertainment with half price cocktails for the ladies 8 to 10 p.m.

hello FriendS,It’s an exciting time for Rapoport’s Restaurant Group. With the recent opening of Burt & Max’s Bar and Grille, the launch of the new XD Theater on the Cinemark Premier Level, the upcoming launch of our loyalty program, Rapoport’s Rewards, and the recent awards we’ve been honored with, we have so much to be thankful for this season. We are thrilled to have been named the Southeastern winner of the United States Chamber of Commerce DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year. After completing a detailed and lengthy application, we are 1 of 7 regional finalists. The winner will be announced at the United States Chamber of Commerce Summit in Washington DC on April 30. We are also in the running for the Community Excellence Award, which was selected by a recent online voting campaign. Thank you to all our loyal friends who took the time to vote for us and supported all of our restaurants over the years.

Bogart’Sxd preview partyOver 400 loyal Rapoport’s Restaurant Group customers and movie enthusiasts had a sneak peak of the new XD screen at Cinemark Palace 20 Theater on Monday, March 11. Bogart’s Bar & Grille, located on the Premier Level, hosted the launch party from 6-8 p.m. for all ages to enjoy a complimentary 15 minute preview of the large XD screen with its enhanced

surround sound system. Burt Rapoport and Frank Gonzales, Marketing Manager at Cinemark Theaters, were on site mingling with guests and speaking with the media. Additionally, Bogart’s provided complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and SLAM table tennis during the event.

On February 15, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce named Rapoport’s Restaurant Group one of seven national finalists for the 2013 DREam Big Small Business of the Year award, who were selected from the top 100 Blue Ribbon Award winners. Additionally, all Blue Ribbon finalists are eligible for the Community Excellence

Award, designed to highlight a business that has found success in the eyes of its community, which was decided through online public voting until February 22. Both award winners will be announced during America’s Small Business Summit, April 29 – May 1, in Washington, D.C.

3/4 cup Mayonnaise1 lg. Egg¼ oz. Worcestershire Sauce 2 tsp. Lemon Juice1 tbs. Dijon Mustard 1 tbs. Old Bay Seasoning 1 tsp. Salt½ tsp. Black PepperPinch Cayenne Pepper 2 cans Jumbo Lump Crabmeat½ cup Finely Ground Panko Breadcrumbs 3 tbs. Chives (finely chopped) 3 tbs. Italian Parsley (finely chopped)

1. Combine mayonnaise, egg, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper in a mixing bowl and set aside.

2. Combine the herbs, wet base and breadcrumbs, mix well. Then fold in the crab, ensuring not to overwork the mix.

3. On a clean work surface, make 4 oz. balls and flatten them into a cake shape. Dust each side with a little of the extra breadcrumbs.

4. Sauté using half canola oil and butter (1/2 oz. each) in a non-stick pan until golden brown on both sides and heated through.
