CLIMATE With a Mediterranean climate, Rancho Palos Verdes has pleasant, sunny and temperate weather year-round with average highs in the 80s.

GETTING THERE Terranea® is located 18 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and 24 miles north of Long Beach Airport (LGB).

GETTING AROUND Whether or not you rent a car is entirely up to you. Terranea® provides complimentary transportation within the resort and to locations within a five-mile radius, which include the Trump National Golf Course, Los Verdes Country Club, shopping and tennis. If you want to experience the surrounding area including LA, Disneyland®, LEGOLAND® and Orange County, your Destination Concierge would be more than happy to arrange a private car service, taxi or rental car.

PARKING Enjoy complimentary parking at the resort while in residence.

CHECK IN/ARRIVAL PROCESS You will check in and meet your Destination Concierge at the main lobby of the resort. From there, you will be escorted to your villa and given a tour of the residence and resort.

THINGS TO KNOWGROCERIES For just the cost of groceries, your Destination Concierge will be happy to fulfill your grocery order. Simply complete the order form on your Inspirato.com account at least 72 hours prior to your arrival. Additional shopping trips are $25 plus the cost of groceries.

IN-RESIDENCE DINING OPTIONS Terranea has eight on-property restaurants and room service is available 24/7. In addition, a private chef can be arranged to come to the residence and prepare a meal for you; however, we request that this be booked a minimum of 72 hours in advance.

STAY FIT Work out at Terranea's oceanfront wellness and fitness center, open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The resort offers complimentary fitness classes (schedule posted on their website) which are on a first-come, first-served basis. There are daily yoga and Pilates classes, too.

TIPPING GUIDELINES While our Destination Concierge teams and housekeeping staff welcome and appreciate recognition for exceptional service, tipping is entirely up to you based on your level of satisfaction. If you would like to leave a gratuity, we suggest the following general guidelines:

+ Destination Concierge: $20-$50 per day depending on the level of service you experienced. + Housekeeping: $5-$7 per occupied room per evening is typical for luxury hospitality. + Restaurants: The customary 15-20% of your total bill is appropriate. + Vendors: Gratuity is dependent on the complexity of the experience or service, so we suggest using your discretion.

SPA The Spa at Terranea is a 50,000 square foot oceanfront spa featuring unique treatments inspired by the resort’s coastal locale. Spa and spa pool hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

GOLF

+ The Links at Terranea (on-site) - A 9-hole oceanfront course with stunning views of the ocean and Catalina Island. Designed by Todd Eckenrode of Origins Golf Design, this nine-hole Los Angeles golf course totals approximately 1,239 yards from the back tees, with a par of 27. + Trump National Golf Club (located 10 minutes away) - This 18-hole course perched upon the jagged California cliffs taking advantage of one of the most incredible views in the world from every hole. Noted as the most expensive golf course ever built, over $250 million dollars has been spent to ensure its prominence. Gleaming white sand lines the walls of the massive bunkers, expansive lakes protect tucked away greens, and magnificent waterfalls cascade down at Trump National. This Pete Dye designed course has been greatly enhanced by Donald J. Trump. + Los Verdes Golf Course (located 10 minutes away) - An 18-hole Billy Bell designed course with beautiful ocean views. + Rolling Hills Country Club (located 20 minutes away) - An 18-hole course perched on a ridge with views of the Los Angeles basin.

BEACHES In southern California, the beach is always calling. The beach at Terranea Resort is great for kayaking or other water sports, but if you want to lie out or swim, these are our three favorites.

+ Redondo Beach - This wide, sandy beach draws thousands of people to lie out, play beach volleyball or just bike or rollerblade on The Strand that runs by it. Redondo is great for a picnic lunch, too. + Hermosa Beach - Sunbathing is also very popular at Hermosa, and the waters here are a great place to surf and paddleboard. Hermosa boasts a fun bar scene to bookend a day on the sand. + Manhattan Beach - Manhattan's wide shores have attracted many professional athletes and actors in recent years. This beach is also host to an annual beach volleyball tournament as well as a surfing festival. The entire family will enjoy a day of swimming and sunbathing here.

DESTINATION HIGHLIGHT From mid-July through the end of August, the Pageant of the Masters (in Laguna Beach) is a must. Every day at 8:30 p.m., actors reenact famous paintings during 90-minute “living picture” presentations.

FAMILY With Disneyland and Universal Studios® just 50 minutes away, finding the family activity your kids have been begging for is easy. Your Destination Concierge can help you determine the best way to get to these sought-after family parks.

MUST-DO Just 22 miles off the coast of Terranea is the gorgeous Catalina Island, a world all its own. Here you can zip line, kayak, parasail, snorkel, hike the Trans-Catalina Trail, shop, dine or just lie out on the beach and work on your tan. Whatever it is you want to do, this rugged getaway is sure to provide you with the perfect day trip.

ROMANTIC Sail away from it all aboard a dinner cruise where you can eat, drink and dance the night away – with the stunning nighttime views of the coast creating the perfect setting.

ADVENTURE Book an ocean kayak tour through the Catalina Channel’s famous underwater reserve. The stunning reefs are full of marine life including bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, leopard sharks and bat rays.

NATURE The Palos Verdes Peninsula is home to more than 30 scenic hiking trails, where you'll enjoy bountiful birds, lovely tide pools and striking sunsets. Stop afterward to meet the on-site falconer and learn about the birds that call the bluff home.

LOCAL For many in the area, surfing is a way of life. There are several area surf breaks, including Palos Verdes Cove, which appeals to surfers of all levels. The Channel, an easy-breaking wave at the center of the Cove, is great for beginners.

ROMANTIC The Strand House (located in Manhattan Beach) - Simultaneously contemporary and classic, the ambiance at The Strand House is an ideal complement to a bottle of wine and a menu of modern American fare.

RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTSFINE DINING Mar’sel (located on-site) – Enjoy French and Spanish twists on California farm-to-table cuisine. A focus on local and seasonal ingredients—including herbs and fruits from an on-site garden—is evident in elegant dinners, relaxed late-night bites or chic weekend brunches. Sip an artisan cocktail, distinctive wine or a local micro-brew while overlooking stunning views. 

LOCAL Good Stuff (located in Hermosa Beach) – Enjoy Head here for healthier salads, burgers and sandwiches and a relaxed, beachy vibe.

DC’s TIP: Listen to the waves crash as you dine on the patio, which is just steps from the beach.
