SOLAR ENERGY PROGRAMME: With rapid depletion of the fossil fuelreserves, and increasing environmental pollution, use of renewable sourcesof energy seem to be the only solution to save the environment and tosustain the process of development. Due to its abundance, solar energyoffers ample scope to be harnessed for providing household electricityespecially in un-electrified and under-electrified areas. Pallimangal is tryingto promote the use of different solar photovoltaic (SPV) and solar thermalsystems through awareness generation and motivation since the year 2001.

NON FORMAL EDUCATION: Due to the social, economical, environmentaland many practical difficulties, a considerable part of our rural populaceis yet to see the light of education. Pallimangal has been conducting anumber of Non Formal Education Centres at different villages to provideminimum literacy to those who failed to obtain regular schooling. Presently16 such NFE Centres for the backward and depressed classes are beingrun by Pallimangal in 11 villages under 7 Gram Panchyat areas of Goghat-I & II blocks, one in Tarakeswar Municipality area and one in Kotalpur,Bankura District, through active involvement of village level organizations. The following chart shows the details:

RAMAKRISHNA MATHP.O. KAMARPUKUR, DIST. HOOGHLY, WEST BENGAL: 712 612, INDIA

OUR THANKS AND APPEAL FOR IMMEDIATE NEED

We are very much grateful to all those contributors, friends and admirers whohave helped us in various ways in carrying out the noble activities taken upby us with the motto “for one’s own salvation and the welfare of all”.

Holy Kamarpukur, Jayrambati and Belur Math, together form the GoldenTriangle of pilgrim centres. Every devotee or admirer of Sri Ramakrishna aspiresto visit these three sacred places at least once in a lifetime to offer homage tothe Holy Trio. Day-by-day the number of pilgrims visiting these holy spots issteadily increasing. Apart from the cooked prasad (consecrated food), we offerGuest House facility also to the pilgrims. The cottage-type Guest Rooms oppositeto the Sri Ramakrishna Temple at Kamarpukur (adjacent to Haldharpukur)were constructed many years back and need to be renovated immediately.Needless to say, this renovation work needs sufficient funds. So, we requestall the devotees and admirers of Sri Ramakrishna to come forward and generouslycontribute their mite to this noble cause. The Cheque or Draft may kindly bedrawn in favour of: “Ramakrishna Math, Kamarpukur” and sent to the aboveaddress clearly mentioning the purpose of donation. Please note that oursbeing a charitable institution, all donations are exempt from Income Tax underSection 80G of the Income Tax Act-1961.
