1 . Introduction AND Welcome1 .1 Welcome from Rally Australia

Dear Rally Colleague

I am delighted to welcome you once again to Kennards Hire Rally Australia,

round 13 and the final round of the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship. We

have seen how wild and fierce the new 2017 World Rally cars are in the other

rounds and we can’t wait to see how they perform on our Australian roads.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Kennards Hire, Destination

NSW, Coffs Harbour City Council, Forestry Corporation of NSW, Toyota Australia

and our other sponsors whose excellent support helps ensure the rally keeps

returning to the Coffs Coast.

We have a more compact itinerary this year with new, closer stages Pilbara and Eastbank on Friday showcasing

Coffs Harbour’s wild-forest roads and beautiful hinterland. Friday and Saturday afternoons welcome back by

popular demand the thrilling Destination NSW Super Special Stage. The Nambucca Stage, a drivers’ favourite,

returns on Saturday along with the Raceway Stage, which is an accessible and popular attraction for families.

On Sunday we head north once again to the forest roads for Bucca, Pilbara Reverse and the Power Stage fan

favourite at Wedding Bells.

Once again, we’ll wrap up the season in fun style with the WRC Gala Dinner and Awards on the night after the

rally, at the Museum of Contemporary Art beside Sydney Harbour.

We look forward to receiving your entries and welcoming you back to Australia.

Ben Rainsford

Rally Australia Chairman

Government must be issued before the vehicle enters Australia for all vehicles being imported using the Event

Status Concession.

Application forms can be downloaded from the internet at:

www.infrastructure.gov.au/vehicles/imports/import_options/rrvs.aspx

It is strongly recommended that you do not ship your vehicle until after you receive your Import Approval. Any

missing documents or incomplete applications will delay the issuing of an Import Approval. You will need an

Import Approval to take delivery of your vehicle from the Australian Port of entry.

Allow up to 17 days from receipt of your application and all documentation for processing and issue of an

Approval. A fee of $50.00 must accompany this application. Details of how to make this payment is on the

vehicles registered overseas. The organisers have made arrangements to obtain this cover and application

can be made at the time of lodging your entry if you wish to join a policy offered by the organiser’s insurance

provider.

Visiting rally vehicles that are not registered in another country may be issued an Unregistered Vehicle Permit

(UVP) for the duration of Kennards Hire Rally Australia. These vehicles are subject to special conditions that

restrict vehicle use only to the duration of rally. A Safe-Use-Declaration form is required. Forms can be down-

loaded from:

Y GUIDE on

e

Coffs Coast is the regional tourism destination

taking in the Bellingen, Clarence Valley, Coffs

Harbour and Nambucca areas on the North

Coast of NSW. This is where the Great Dividing

Range meets the Pacific Ocean, leaving a

small pocket of paradise lodged between

the mountains and the sea.

The Coffs Coast region encompasses the

rainforest escarpments of Dorrigo to the

golden beaches stretching from Hungry Head

and Urunga to Woolgoolga to the blue waters

of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. It boasts a

wonderfully temperate climate all year round.
