GREEN INITIATIVES

COUNTRY COORDINATOR, ENVIRONMENT ONLINE (ENO), FINLAND (since its inception in 2000): Environment Online-ENO is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development and environmental awareness. Over 10,000 schools from 150 countries have taken part since 2000. Based in Joensuu, Finland, ENO has won several international awards and accolades, and was finalist of Stockholm Challenges awards in 2002, 2004 and 2008, ENO was included in the United Nation’s Conference on Sustainable Development, RIO +20. Under one of its most successful campaign, 100 Million Trees by 2017, our network planted about 100 million trees worldwide. In January 2019, ENO has launched a worldwide campaign for reduction of 3 million tonnes of CO2 by 2025, the campaign is primarily led by student leaders. This campaign was formerly launched by us with Finnish Ambassador to India at the Embassy of Finland on 18th January 2019, followed by an international conference in Finland attended by over 700 delegates from all over the world.
