Raising Children Who SucceedOne of the most powerful and challenging and yet the absolute most rewarding thing any

person can do, is to raise a child and teaching them to be all they can be. It really doesnt

maer if the child is your genecally speaking or if it is child you adopted or raising a child

from someone elses family due to circumstances. Whatever the case, raising a child is a

    lifelong commitment.

To raise a child one needs to be paent and ready to have a huge heart to show your child

you are raise how much you sincerely love them and care about them. Do you think when you

were growing up and you had diculty. We that will be nothing aer you need to help your

child deal with their own heartbreaking problem.

As parents we are oen busy with so many things and yet we all make sure our children have

all the essenals they need such as food, shelter, schooling so they can learn to read and

write, and all those important jobs done, we oen forget that what our children really need us

for is for us to give them the way to know how succeed in life, and to be all they can be.

Oen parents raise children in the hopes they will surpass them in their own life of success.

Whether it is talent, or a discovered passion, or a higher standard of living, and feel children

should learn from our mistakes we as parents did in our own lives. Oen parents hope by

giving such lessons and opportunies that they faced in their lives they can pass it on to their

own children for them to be even more success than they were.

The true fact of the maer is, in order to have successful child they need to have a childhood

that breeds success. The good news for parents is that it will not cost thousands of dollars

in private school fees or involving them into extracurricular acvies. All it will cost is your

me and eort to listen and talking to your child and you prey much have it already under

    control.

To teach a child to succeed in todays world is much dierent than it was even just a few years

ago. A few short years ago it was considered wise to teach your child to do well in school

and then go to university so they can get a good paying job with a good company. It was

considered wise to teach your child to work hard and work their way up to the top and stay

    unl they rered.

However, with so many layos and cut backs that may not be the best advice to give your child

today. Things have changed so much over the past few years. Most young people should the

stay with a career mind with nd themselves changing jobs at least 4 to 5 mes in their life.

Most will not be so afraid about that as they can show what is their talent and get hired on.

Now days the new generaons will usually take a job that is within their industry and learn

as much as they possibly can in reality. Then they noce how they could improve upon the

opportunity and then work on contract basis rather than a permanent posion.

This is an important maer to fully understand when raising children today. The current

generaon will be seeking work on contract basis rather than a permanent posion, much

dierent when you and I went to school and learned to work hard, study hard and nd a good

company to climb the corporate ladder and rere with a great pension.

Children today are growing up in a very dierent world than the one we once grew up in.

Today the children want to be self employed, own their own businesses, and pursue creave

endeavors. There are however, some children who sll prefer to try and nd a good company

to work for and make a career of it. These children are nding it ever more dicult to have as

the world and the way of doing business is changing.

Most parents will say their childrenare already success if they grow up

to be healthy, happy and able to beindependent of their parents. How-ever, even we say that as parents, the fact remain it is not all that we

    expect from them.

    How Do We Define Success?

Take a minute and look at your own life. How do you measure your own success? Is it the

posion you have at work, or the business that you might own or the possessions you have

or simply the way you live your life? Do you measure your success by your relaonships,

your children or your friends? Just for fun think about what you think success means in your

own life and write them down. You might surprise yourself what you have accomplished and

    deemed success in your life.

It is interesng to see as parents that we actually teach our children even when we dont even

mean to. So the list that you just made is an important factor as your children do learn from

you even when you are not even trying to teach them. Your list gives you a great starng point

of what your child is already learning from you what is important in your life and amazinglyenough they will follow it, just as you did with your own parents.

Aer you have completed your list, read it over one more me and think about how you

learnt those elements of success. You might want to try and pung them into some groups

like spiritual, emoonal, physical and economics as well. Once you have done it you will have

created your very own report about your life. It is important to consider them individually.

Of course there are dierent areas that we all consider are the moments of importance to

measure our successes. From person to person success will vary a lot. Some people will

measure success by the posion they hold with a company, some people will measure successas nding their sole mate and raising children with them. For some it maybe to become a

CEO of a worldwide organizaon. Regardless how you measure your success, they are all

important. They all make this beauful world they way it is today.

In order to raise and create a successful child, one must rst recognize and understand that

success is not measured by being the richest child on the block. Its about teaching your

children to have dreams, seng goals and bringing that dream to life. By doing so our children

    will succeed.

Even though as parents we know our child will copy us, and will follow us to some degree,

it doesnt make them a carbon copy of us. Maybe your family comes from a long line of

police ocers, or reman or even a doctor, and maybe you yourself are one of these ne

professions, it doesnt mean your son or daughter are going to follow your footsteps and do

the same thing. Once you and your children understand the meaning and the values of what

success is, now is the me to share with our children through our modeling and acknowledgethey are individual people dierent from us with possibly much dierent goals than you might

have expected. Even they might choose a completely dierent route than you might have

thought, it is important to insll the value and the dream they have to become a reality.

What is important is to see and

watch your child how they carryout the task to reach their goals anddreams they want to attain and givethe support they need to get there.
